Re: Meet Ghost
We have an escape artist!!! Found him near the rim of the bin cage as the mesh came loose. He had some time on my lap while I removed the lid and was happy walking on and off my hand. Seems like a chill guy, just not a morning person

Re: Meet Ghost
You have a heart of gold Engel, adopting and rescuing these 3 hamsters. I would suggest the tissue trick for all your hams. So looking forward to hearing about Ghost's progress.

Is that when you have tissue with your scent on it and put it in their cages? If so, great minds think alike! I did that the day they came so it was all ready

Re: Meet Ghost
I've done my first spot cleaning with Ghost and he didn't seem to fussed...kind of woke up, had a look around and went back to sleep. Here's his current bin set up. Anyway to improve?

Hahaha! Loove that flattering photo of Ghost on his back with the paws up. All he needs to do now is snore.

Re: Meet Ghost
Just weighed Ghost and he too has gained weight. I weighed him the say I got him and he weighed 104g and today, again I weighed him and he is 155g, he's gained 51g in 5 days. I'm still recovering from the shock

Re: Meet Ghost
51g in five days is quite an achievement. Still a lightweight compared to my 230g Syrian Henry.

Re: Meet Ghost
How much food was in his pouches when you weighed him? This affects their weight reading quite significantly.

None, he's not the type of hamster to hoard either. He just eats at his bowl then leaves. I'm weighing them weekly so will see if that stays the same. If it drops which I hope it doesn't, then I know he probably did have some food in his pouches.
That being said, Athena also had a jump in weight. Her face is still sunken in a tad so it's obvious when she's pouches something.
Also they roughly eat 10g of food in 2 days. Both eat at their bowls and leave anything inedible around it. No stash, empty pouches and ravenous when it comes to feeding time. They do have one hell of a variety now as well so maybe that helps too. I know it sounds a lot. I checked and triple checked. Changed scales made sure there's nothing else touching the scales. Normally you can hear the seeds in the pouches and I even felt the side of the face and couldn't feel anything but hamster. I'm in shock
