Re: Meet Lyric
I've given lyric a little look over tonight. I wouldn't normally do this because she's so new but I wanted to make sure that she's in heat and not infection.
No discharge, all clear. There is a slight smell but I think that maybe scent glands. I remember when I had rats they had buck grease which has a certain odour and it reminds me a bit of that. I'll keep an eye on her.
Anyways for a hamster that doesn't like to be held she liked climbing on my hand

Re: Meet Lyric
I've also managed to spot clean Lilith's cage and add some more bedding. This did make her a bit unsure and scared. She jumped out her cage (it was on the floor) and hid round the back of some draws. She did come back though. I'm leaving her for the night to settle down and then see what she's like tomorrow. Here's her set up anyway, again, is there anyway to improve?

Re: Meet Lyric
Lilith has just had her eye drops (I don't wake her up to have these I wait for her to get up naturally) and she had some tummy rubs!!!!! I couldn't believe it. She got so relaxed and then curled up and went to sleep on me.

Re: Meet Lyric
You have the magic touch Engel!
A Robo sleeps in your pocket and Lilith is so relaxed after a belly rub that she goes to sleep on you!
Please do share your secret, dear.

Lilith has also started clicking, the happy, content clicking noise. She does it a lot when she sees me too, bless her.
I'm yet to work out my 'secret'. I have the same effect on dogs, cats, horses, hedgehogs and rats. A lot of people call me an animal whisperer. Trust is the main thing I think. When they're with me they know their life has no pain, no fear.
It's a little magical I guess
