Default Hamster fight!

I have 2 Syrians, they are hosued serpriatly and I had them both out, one on the bed one on the floor away from each other. One jumped off the bed and went on the floor they ran in to each other and just walked off. Like an idiot I thought oh so I watched to make sure and then one grabbed the other, my hand was in in like seconds. I phoned my mum and she walked me through checking them both. There was blood in one cage but it was probably mine. They do t have any bleeding as far as I can tell. Hoji has a little mark around his butt / testicle area ( he was the attacker) that looks like wet dryed fur or maybe matted but no blood. Their both ran in their cages and wanted back out, both has a quick run in the wheels and taken trees. I'm not letting this happen again, it's one at a time just to be safe, what do I need to look out for to tell if they have been hurt!?

Suppose this is what you get for been an idiot

You’re not an idiot, you’re just getting experience with owning multiple hamsters. You put your hands in there so fast, I would think they are probably not hurt. Keep an eye on them and make sure they eat, drink and exhibit normal behavior. It should be okay.

On the other hand, if you are bleeding, make sure you disinfect your cut thoroughly. Our pets carry bacterias that can be harmful to humans and you need to protect yourself. You can use Hydrogen peroxyde 3% or polysporin, or both.

Not an idiot, stuff like this happens. Are you ok? May I recommend that you have one ham out at a time to avoid this happening again and it'll be easier for you as you are only keeping one ham out of trouble rather than two. No harm in letting one out one night and letting the other out the next, but we'll done for intervening quickly.

I'd check them both over for any cuts. If there is any keep an eye out for infection, keeping it clean and dry is key. To be honest as long as they're acting normal and eating, drinking and exercising normally I doubt there'll be much to worry about
