Lightbulb Fitch bedding vs Kaytee C&C vs Carefresh white?

I saw some threads comparing fitch with carefresh but not kaytee ones. I am currently using mix of kaytee and carefresh, i personally prefer kaytee because my robo loves to burrow and it is so nuch softer, carefresh tends to have a bedding kinda smell? but it is so white i can see where the hamster poo or urine on them, but kaytee's white looks a bit more natural. Thinking of getting fitch, more curious if comparing fitch to kaytee, how different is it? Seems like fitch is nearer to kaytee than carefresh.

I really like Kaytee clean and cosy, its softer than fitch and cheaper than carefresh.

That being said I generally buy fitch because it comes in 10 - 20kg bales. depends on the size of your cage and how much you want to spend.

I really like Kaytee clean and cosy for several reasons; it's less expensive than carefresh, as Oreo mentioned, it expands a lot more out of the packaging than carefresh (so I guess it's even more less expensive than carefresh?) It's softer, I haven't had any issues with dusty bedding... and Cadmium noticeably prefers it. One cage set up I did recently had a deep area of substrate for digging (almost to the top of the cage: she *loves* to dig) but because that side was carefresh and the rest was Kaytee, she pretty much refused to use it I certainly can't accuse her of being wishy washy or not knowing what she wants :P

I have a about 60cm x 40cm bin cage, but I tend to fill about 5-7cm bedding for Yoyo to burrow, but it tends to stick under the wheel even I make hills for him especially after he burrows everywhere just become flat hahaha

I’m a student and rents only a room, so I am thinking if I buy Fitch in a bulk I might have storage problem?

Does fitch smells more like Carefresh or nearer to odourless like Kaytee?

No, you understood perfectly; she's a picky little tyrant Fortunately, she doesn't mind some carefresh mixed in with lots of Kaytee, so the substrate won't be wasted. Does mean I'll probably stick to Kaytee in future though

Have you tried fencing off a low substrate area around the wheel? You could use bendy bridges, or erinsanimals on YouTube made some mountain shaped walls out of card to go with a cage theme.

Personally I prefer Fitch It works out cheaper and I've been using it for years. I have tried Kaytee Clean and Cosy. It is similar to Fitch but the coloured ones have a bit of a smell - although it does wear off if aired. I just prefer the texture of Fitch. I am not keen on Carefresh as found it had a fine dust but many people happily use it. Both Fitch and Kaytee CC are dust free really. But Kaytee works out a lot more expensive than Fitch and I have two 100cm cages so prefer to buy the Fitch in bulk.

I prefer Kaytee, it works out a little more expensive but I think it's softer and I've never found hard bits or had discoloured bales of Kaytee like I have with Fitch. My hammies seem to prefer it too

It's definitely Kaytee for us!

I usually use Megazorb but keep a supply of Kaytee for use in hospital and maternity cages. At one point I as using Fitch but after a disapponting few batches a couple of years ago, found Kaytee to be a much more suitable option for us.
