Re: Meet Niko
Thank you for sharing these lovely photos. Nico is a very unusual Robo because mostly they are very shy but he likes to come out! Was Nico that tame and friendly when you first got him?

No he wasnt that tame. Had a few nibbles and plenty of hiding! The first couple of weeks I hardly saw him. Heard him during the night but hid all day.
To be honest i heard robos being skittish and more for watching rather than handling and to me that was ok, especially as he's 'rescue' so I wasn't expecting or pushing for this. Just give him a nice hassle free life. Handling for quick check over. So I'm amazed.
I'll call him and he'll come over. I think it helps that everything is on his terms. I don't force him to be handled he comes to me, I don't chase him around the cage trying to get him. He's going through a phase of emptying his cheek pouches on my shoulder before scurrying to get more to climb back up there and do it all again... I know that's not normal.

Re: Meet Niko
Upgraded to the zoozone 2 (large) and it's easily double the size of my P@H cage and Nikos busy exploring
(Hes always really interested in my phone so when he sees it he can't resist coming over... resulting in blurred images)

Thank you for sharing these amazing photos. Nico's new habitat looks fab but i liked his old p@h cage set up too. You two are really meant for each other.

Yes I liked it too but he wasn't happy in there. He kept chewing the bars and pulling on them while doing so. He also climbed them quite a bit and scratch the side of the base just under where the bars start.
I tried more free roam time, less stuff in the cage just I'm case it was too much. Tried adding more also blocking the areas he goes to bar chew but he'd do the same thing a bit further along. I even tried ignoring it just incase it was a attention thing. Nothing worked so he's in the zoozone and has plenty in there to do. Seems happier and can do zoomies around the enclosure rather than just running on the wheel. Just waiting for the mesh to arrive to secure the lid then I can make a deeper area for him to tunnel

Re: Meet Niko
Been a while since I've updated this. Niko is well and very tame for a robo. In fact I would say that he is more tame than my Syrians at the moment. He's fully grown length wise now, just filling out. He is a tiny 23g in a massive zoozone so I guess he's living the dream!

Re: Meet Niko
Little update on little Niko!
He's doing well and now a year old! Can't believe it, where has that time gone?
