Thinking of going on holiday
I am thinking of going on holiday for a week in the middle of July but a bit worried what to do with my little ones as I have 3 and all in separate cages. The newest one I adopted is current being treated for an ongoing abscess so I have been giving him antibiotics twice a day.
Do I ask a family member to pop in twice a day (Ray may have stopped his medicine by then) or find a hamster boarding place in Leeds?
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Thinking of going on holiday
Are there any pet sitters in your local area? Rather than finding a boarding place they will come to your home - you could ask on here/facebook groups or next door forum etc if anyone knows of any one that is reliable and trustworthy.

Re: Thinking of going on holiday
Depends on how reliable your family member is.
Hamsters hoard food and don't usually drink excessively so can be left by themselves for a night or two. Even if your family member would forget about the hamsters once or twice they wouldn't starve.
I have recently been away for a week and my partner who was away for a couple of days himself, looked after my hamster. He has a water bottle and a water bowl attached to the cage. When i came back i was buffled to see that Henry hamster had pee'd in his sandpit, something he never does. He had built up such a huge hoard in his house that he couldn't get to his corner toilet! I had asked my partner to feed him a bit extra for when he was away overnight but not enough to last him a week.
Yes, i also think it would be better for the hamsters to stay at home and have a family member or pet sitter come round daily.
