Default Whimzees

I'm going to buy some whimzee toothbrushes. Which size would be best for a Syrian hamster and should I just put it in the cage somewhere or like tie it to the cage bars?

TIA

I use the large size toothbrushes and stix for my Syrians as I find they show more interest than with the medium ones. Just leaving it somewhere in the cage is best, I prefer not to place treats and chews in the bars in case it encourages bar chewing.

I always opt for the smallest ones because my hamster tends to be really interested in them at first, and then leaves about half of it and doesn't touch it again.

Whimzees are Theodore's most treasured possession and since he's a little Russian Hybrid I give him the XS size. He will go though the whole thing in about a week and he gets a new one every second Saturday. I hide them in random spots in his cage so that he can find it on his own. His reaction is the same every time! He'll immediately stop in his tracks, grab the Whimzee and make a beeline straight to his Castle where he hides them. In his haste its not uncommon for him to trip over himself in excitement and hurry to hide his treasure before anyone else sees it! "Slow down little guy" I always say ... "No one else will steal your treasure ... You are the only Hamster here!"

And so it goes ....

I got the medium size for my Syrian and put three different colours in his cage to see which he likes best but he hid all three of them! A nest is not complete without a whimzee it seems.
