Anyone got a jealous hamster?

Mocha, our female Syrian is very jealous of her neighbour Toffee, our male hybrid dwarf. If we open Toffee’s cage or call him she will wake and start sniffing at the bars in the direction of his cage. Heaven forbid we feed Toffee first, if so she’s spidering desperate for food as if to say 'what? you’re feeding him and not me?' It's the same if we get Toffee out for a run - she's really desperate then.

Honestly, so jealous!

Oh dear! I once looked after a female Syrian hamster who was a real diva. I left a heavy ceramic dog bowl I used as a sandbath on her barred cage when I went to fill up a water bottle only to hear a bang. She pushed it off - onto the roof of another hamster's cage (no injuries thankfully). The dent was a lasting reminder of her visit.

No, both were P@H adoptions, same shop, same time. She is an oddball though - unlike previous Syrians that had one or two food stashes, Mocha has eight, all burried deep into the shavings.

She sounds a real character! How many nests does she have? I checked my hamster's nest for fresh food that's gone off but he was mighty miffed about it. He watched me from his tunnel then went off to build a second nest doing lots of paper shredding. I felt guilty for making my hamster homeless and had to resort to bribery to coax him back to his original nest.
