Default Need help! My new Syrian Hamster

I have been so excited about my new hamster that I brought home on Tuesday, 2-26. But I am so nervous because he didnt touch his food or water last night and he has has just been sleeping in the corner day and night. The night before he used his wheel I could tell because there was bedding in it. I have been giving l him his space to help him acclimate only putting my hamd in to pet him now and then. I’ve fed him treats which i think he’s eaten, bit idk about water. I’m so worried he’ll become dehydrated. What do I do?

They only drink a very small amount so he may have had some water without you noticing but do check the bottle is working ok just in case.
What food are you giving him.
Does he have a good size house to sleep in.
It's very early days still so he may just be nervous, if you don't see any signs of activity or eating he could be unwell so try to keep a close eye on him without distubing him too much for now.

Hi, Thank you for your reply. He is on Oxbow hamster food and this morning I gave him some diced cabbage dusted with Benebac. I figured the cabbage could help hydrate him and he ate the pieces that I handed him. His hideaway is large it’s appropriate sized for him. I did check to make sure his water bottle is working and it is. I think its nerves probably. I’m trying to really give him his space so he fan acclimate, but keeping a close eye out just in case.

Was he on oxbow before you got him?
It's not good for hamsters to have just a pellet food & the oxbow is a bit low in protein for a young hamster, if you're in the US you should be able to get Hazel Hamster which would be better for him, if he is used to the oxbow you would need to introduce the new food gradually.
