Default the thread of ted(dy)!

a general thread for my male, short haired syrian Teddy!!

so we brought him home from petsmart on dec 31, 2018. taming him has definitely been a slow progress. i was hesitant to buy him a hamster ball because i was worried his little feet would get caught in the gaps. however, we recently got him one and he really loves it, and i’ve had him in the tub as a playpen once, tonight. he was quite curious and would walk onto my hands to exit the hamster ball or draw back in. he also crawled on my leg and chest as well. he’ll put his paws on my hand to take treats out of it when i put it in his cage too.

he still hates being picked up but hey, progress is progress!! i’ll definitely attach pictures soon!!

Look forward to pics
You were right about the ball, caught feet is only one of the many problems with them eg regular balls being too small for Syrians & that they cut off their main senses. Hamsters walking into balls themselves or running round in them aren’t indicators that they’re enjoying it unfortunately, lots will run out of stress so it’s definitely best to avoid them.
