Smile Water bowl or bathtub?

I replaced my robo Sundae’s water bottle with a bowl earlier and he’s decided it makes an excellent bathtub! It’s nice and shallow so he can easily reach the water but when he drinks he likes to climb in anyways! Then he immediately has a sandbath to dry himself

Wow. I thought hamsters couldn't get wet without getting sick?

You shouldn’t bathe hamsters unless absolutely necessary because it can remove the oils from their fur/skin and cause them to get sick. With Sundae tho, he really just hopped in and out of his water bowl a few times and only got his paws and tummy wet briefly. I’ve been monitoring him with the water bowl all night (literally all night bc I have insomnia) and he’s fine with it now, he was just a curious little ham at first

They are funny little things! Only thing is his water won't be very hygienic to drink then! Maybe because he's used to a bottle, and the dish is bowl shaped, he thinks it's a bath

Lol! That’s why I bought the rodipet bowl the little 5.5cm one, it’s so small not even a robo would think about getting in there. Glad the baths have stopped anyway.
