Default Do I have time for a second hamster?

Hi guys so I'm having a little dither. I posted a thread yesterday that I was thinking of getting a second hamster but my times r a little weird. My cats are at another address so I spend most the day with them. I leave between 11 am and 12 but normally get up early and get back between 9 and 10. This os great for hoji as he comes out at night but I don't want to get another hamster and not be able to spend time. I don't feel rushed ATM and I'm in all day Wednesdays and Sundays. Opinions please? Ta

How long you're around during the day doesn't really matter, I would just consider how much time you have in the evenings, how much time Hoji needs & if you think allowing for that you would have the time needed for another ham, all hams have different routines & times when they are most active & interactive so you have to allow for that too.
If you're enjoying having Hoji & don't have a lot of time to spare maybe now isn't the right time to be getting a second ham, just make the most of the time you have with him.

Hiya Cypher, this little ham I've seen is a rescue ham and I feel a little guilty leaving him in case he don't get adopted but Hoji been a Syrian is quite a joyful handful. As much as I want to and think I've got time I suppose that would impact little Hoji which isn't really fair. Thanks as always

Also he's from pets at home and I've started to hear rumours that they put rescue ones to sleep and I can't stand the idea of this little fellow been gone

It's a difficult decision when you've seen a little one you want to adopt but only you can decide really if you have the time & how it might impact Hoji, lots of us do manage two or more hams with no problem so it isn't that hard but you have to decide on your own circumstances (allowing for things like vet fund to).
I don't know what the policy is on keeping the animals in the adoption section at P@H, I have heard of some being kept there for months but don't know anything for sure, you could try contacting the Support Adoption For Pets charity & ask them.
