Can a Hamster's Skirt Shrink?
I have a male long-haired Syrian hamster who's about a year and a half old, and I've noticed that his skirt is almost non-existent. He used to have a really long one (especially over the winter), but it shrunk a little over the summer and now it's barely there. Is that normal? I thought it could've been seasonal and maybe their skirts grow longer in the winter and shed in the summer, but then wouldn't his skirt be growing back now that it's fall?

Re: Can a Hamster's Skirt Shrink?
Often males will lose their skirts with age so I wouldn’t worry - it isn’t uncommon at all. Sometimes they really seem to vanish!

Thanks! I was worried there might be something wrong.
