Re: Wonder's Thread
Hi all,
Thanks for your sweet messages about sweet Wonder Mae
This morning a found a big coconut for £1 so thought i'd make Wonder a coconut hide. I've long admired them but always found the ones they've sold in pet shops a bit on the small side.
I'm going to make some coconut chips with the flesh.
Here's the finished hide. I can't wait to see if she likes it this evening

Re: Wonder's Thread
Hadn't had time to post replies recently but have been keeping updated with Wonder thread. I am sorry to hear that she is still having respiratory issues (but pleased that she doesn't have pneumonia). I hope her sneezing and snuffly breathing will get better soon - have you managed to see a specialist vet?
Glad to hear that Wonder is getting inquisitive and is getting more comfortable around you. I am sorry to hear that she has bitten your boyfriend a couple of time, it does make you nervous but I'm sure once she happy to be handled by you she will quickly warm up to your bf too.
Beautiful photos of Wonder - she is so beautiful and she has such an expressive face. I'm sure Wonder will love her new coconut hide!

Re: Wonder's Thread
You did a great job in that hide! I heard that she loves it! I may try to make one with Mr. Libby!

Re: Wonder's Thread
Hi all,
So sorry for such a delayed response regarding the coconut hide!
Here she is enjoying it the night of -
cococreep2.jpg
coconutcreep.jpg
I think she was enticed in by the coconut chips I put in there because I haven't seen her go back in since
Infact I haven't seen much of her generally..
WM wakes up so late at the moment. Hopefully the clocks going back will mean i'll see a bit more of her.
She has a funny little personality. If I compared my dear previous hamster Lil to a doting dog, Wonder Mae would certainly be an independent feline
She doesn't have much interest in coming out for playtime or being handled. Quite content running in her wheel and wriggling around in her sandpit and sleeping all day.
I leave lots of chews/puzzles/treats/toys for her to explore but she doesnt take much notice
She does have a great appetite for almost all fresh food i've offered her though

Re: Wonder's Thread
Oh she is just too cute in her coconut!
She sounds very content in her own way, i hope she gets a bit more interactive with time though, mine were up early with the clock change yesterday, hope you get to see a bit more of her now too.
