Re: Wonder's Thread
That's just so awful - pets, no matter how small, aren't products. They are family members! I am wishing wonder a speedy recovery.

Re: Wonder's Thread
It's not the first time I've heard of this response regarding a hamster. It really upsets me that they think replacing a hamster is better than paying the bill.
Wishing your wonder girl a very speedy recovery. Beautiful pics.

Re: Wonder's Thread
Hi all,
Thanks for all of your responses. I'm glad i'm among like minded people with regards to how Pets at Home behaved.
Wonder is doing well. She's still so energetic that taming/bonding is hard to focus on.
I've been sitting in her playpen for the last few nights (before then I think it would've freaked her out) and she has been so inquisitive and now crawls up onto my arms and legs, mostly to look for a way to jump the playpen walls
I can hold her and pass her between hands for several minutes at a time before she leaps off and manically runs around some more.
She hasn't bitten me at all, although I do flinch when she explores my bare feet !!
My boyfriend has been bitten a couple of times now and I think it's made him nervous about holding her.
As for her snuffly sniffles - They are still present but still intermittent and quite mild.
At times, if the room is completely quiet, you can hear her breathing whistles and sounds a bit wet. And she will have more noticeable bouts of sneezing sounds and grooming her nose every now and then.
Pets at Home customer services have confirmed they will cover the costs to see a specialist. Does anyone have any particular recommendations? (within London)

Re: Wonder's Thread
Wonder is so cute Beth, love the photos. She is coming on well.
As for the vet, I recommend exotic specialists CJ Hall in East Sheen. Check out their website.
I realise this may not be convenient for you. If you are more to the east, I know another good vet has been mentioned before (Ilford?) but I can't remember the name.

Thanks Coco
Yes, I remember the Ilford one. Goddard's I think it is.
I may go for that one as it is a bus ride away from me
