Unhappy Wallace has escaped - UPDATE - NOW FOUND

Guess which genius went to bed without checking if they'd closed both of the front cage doors on Wallace's Alexander?

I know he's gone down two flights of stairs because he was heard scratching around in a room on the bottom floor, so I've moved his cage in there and stuck bowls of food in this room and every other.

He didn't touch the fresh food in his cage and I doubt he's eaten anything all night. Here's hoping he goes for one of the bowls soon so I can at least learn what room he's in.

One issue: there may be a mouse/mice somewhere in the house. Does anyone know what would happen if a mouse and syrian came into contact? We've got humane mouse traps around (too small to fit Wallace) and haven't caught anything in the two weeks we've been hearing odd noises, but I'd like to know just to cover my bases.

UPDATE: FOUND HIM! He went back upstairs, climbed onto the sofa we use for lap time.

Brilliant! Glad you found him How nice he went to the sofa. I have done the same thing - left a door open all night. But neither Charlie nor Newt has ever ventured from the cage!
