Question Help, Is One Enough?

I have a wonderful little ham-man named Sammy. Today my nephews wife was at the pet store and messaged me with a picture of another cutie. I want to get him so badly, however I think for the wrong reasons. I looked at him (as well as others), and thought that he needed to be saved. The problem is that I can't save them all. What should I do? Am I alone with these thoughts? Is this normal? Any thoughts might help me.

I think this happens to most of us at some point, it's hard not to rescue all those hams but you have to be practical too, if you have the space for another cage & have the time to spend with each individual ham bearing in mind that some are a lot more active & demanding than others then go for it, if you think having more than one will be a bit much to manage then best to resist!

I definitely agree with Cypher's wise advice. Although our hearts always want to rescue each and every hamster that is in need for our loving home, we should be practical about it, too. No matter how many we rescue, there will always be another ham out there that is needing a home, too. If we have the space for another appropriately sized cage and all the added stuff that goes along with having another fluffy; the time to give each and every ham that we take in the attention and care that it deserves; and the financial resources to pay for all of its needs, wants, and any possible vet care it may need in the future - then, by all means, give another ham an amazing life with you. If not, then it is much better in the long run to resist the temptation to take in another cutie no matter how much we wish that we could rescue it. We will just have to hope that someone out there will find it in their heart to give it a great home and love him/her the way it deserves. Hugs to you for have such a loving and caring heart. Most of us have been there and feel the same dilemma when we see or hear about a precious hammy in need, and I totally understand how you feel.
