Default Robo bar spacing

I’ve looked online and found conflicting advise. What is the maximum bar spacing for a Robo? Looking at a wire extension to go on top of my Robo tank. Thanks x

I think 7mm is the usual recommendation for robos.

Hi. There are varying opinions and some may depend on the robo! Personally I would go with 7mm. I do know people have kept adult robos in cages with 1cm bar spacing but they may have been rather shy ones who didn't bar climb. A baby robo could get stuck in 1cm bar spacing I think. And to be honest any robo who did try and get out through 1cm spacing could get stuck. A mouse can easily get through 1cm bar spacing (so 6 to 7mm is mouse bar spacing).

Thanks! Remy has never been in a barred cage so I don’t know if he would attempt to climb or try and squeeze out. He’s quite confident and a bit of a dare devil with the way he climbs and jumps from his toys in his tank. I will leave this idea!

Our Robo is in the Savic Mickey 2XL with 7mm bar spacing - but he hasn't tried to get through them! He has climbed the bars on occasion and I do worry he might get a leg caught but he seems ok. What is your robo in at the moment? Maybe he doesn't need a topper. I moved ours from a tank into the Mickey 2XL because I couldn't get on with the top entrance with the tank.

He’s in an open tank - just a regular old fish tank, nothing on top. I was just toying with the idea of adding something on top to extend and have space for bar fitted toys, but I think I would worry too much about him squeezing out. You’re probably right, he doesn’t really need the topper
