Question Drinking from a bowl

My hamster was used to drinking from a water bottle but his water bottle was broken just earlier and i don’t really have money to get him a new one yet..

is he going to be able to figure out how to drink from a bowl by himself even though he’s used to drinking from a bottle? what if he sits on his water bowl since he isnt used to it yet, will he be alright?

He should be able to manage OK with a heavy little bowl. I'd give him some veg like cucumber as well as that contains a lot of fluid.
Try and get a new bottle soon though. A normal classic bottle from a pet store is very inexpensive only costing a couple of pounds at the most.

My tiny dwarf hamster struggled to drink from a bottle. I think it's cause she's so tiny. She's a Winter White but she's only the size of a robo. I bought her a bowl and she figured it out straight away, she never sits in it and it's on a plastic level away from any substrate so that the water stays clean. I think it's a lot more natural for them and I think most hamsters would figure it out pretty quick. She drinks so much more now that she has a bowl.
