Re: 31 days of July 2018
Thanks everyone for your input on the collages i'll continue with them then and and i enjoyed reading about the different things you all collect.
@CookieBlossomBella over 300?? Where do you keep them all?
Today's post is about my two current hams who i'm completely in love with and i hope they can charm yous too
The first i adopted from petsathome in december after taking a short (3 month) break from owning hamsters. She came with the name Kiara in the shop and i thought it suited her so kept it but i gave her the second name 'chaos' and she started in a bin cage and was extremely skittish and would never let me hold her. I made her a new cage with front sliding doors and her whole personality changed now she's the tamest little one.
The second little girl was a bit unplanned. I have a horrible habit of checking the pets@home adoption website to see the hams that need homes and i wanted a dwarf but instead i saw this little black with white belly Syrian and having always wanted a black hamster i jumped at the opportunity. She's called Shadow-Bear and is a sweet little girl and jumps up on to the sides of her cage to come out but she's still extremely baby like and is fast and jumpy so i have to be careful when handling her.
The little patch on her nose is where she rubbed her fur off bar biting as a baby and it makes her more adorable!
Today QOTD is: What pets did you have while you were growing up?
For me we only had a family dog (a Jack Russel) who was found on the streets and hadn't been treated well. He was called Vicious because he was quite aggressive towards me

Re: 31 days of July 2018
I’m always looking forward to seeing your post in the morning! Oh my goodness! Kiara’s coloring is so cute! Shadow-Bear is so cute with her little nose patch! You have some lovely hams.
What pet did you have while you were growing up: I have a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen(PVGV) named Willie. He was a sweet old thing. He had to have his lower jaw removed but still pushed through 5 years later! We sadly, have to put him down when he was 14. I also have a sweet Gooldendoodle named Scruffy who is my love and is actually sitting with me right now! She is a ball of energy but is so sweet and curious.

Re: 31 days of July 2018
I've missed 2 days due to family stuff i'm sorry about that but it shouldn't happen again.
So today i thought id show everyone the other 2 fluffballs in my life, my rabbits.
The top 2 pictures here are of my sweet female, Scruffy, who was found wandering the streets by a friend of mine who brought her to me. From the day she came to me back in 2015 she's been an absolute trouble maker and my best friend in hard times
The bottom 2 pictures are of my grumpy male, Thumper (named by my nephews). We rescued Thumper when he was 8 weeks old from a house where he didn't have his own space and was constantly being chased by the family's dog. He had some serious health problems late last year and i feel blessed to still have him in my life.
Scruffs and Thumper live together and Thumper tends to follow Scruffs around, she has given him confidence as he used to just hide away and only let you stroke him for short periods of time.
Here they are together:
The last rabbit i'll share is my mum's, and he was the first rabbit we actually got. He's called Roger and is around 4/5 years old. He's a lionhead and probably the least sociable rabbit we have
Today's QOTD is: do you have a book/book series you enjoy/love?
Mine would be The mortal instruments and The house of night series.

Your rabbits are so cute! The picture of Scruffy sleeping is hilarious. I love Thumper’s long ears. Roger looks so fluffy and puffy! They are all to cute!
Do you have a book series you love: I can’t decide! My top two favorites are the Harry Potter series and the Guardians of Ga’Hoole series! They are both amazing books that just draw you into that world!

Re: 31 days of July 2018
@Sasha04 thank you for all your nice comments
Today i thought i'd share a place which is very special to me. It's right next to my college and i spent many afternoons there as it is so calming and perfect for zoning out in.
The entrance
The lake/water
This bridge which cuts across the lake
A walkway which leads to a tree which was nice to sit in
And some of the trees
Today's QOTD is do you have a favourite game you play?
My all time favourite would be The Sims and i also enjoy Mario Kart

Re: 31 days of July 2018
I'm sorry that I haven't posted on your wonderful and entertaining thread until now. I have been away on an extended vacation and haven't been on HC for awhile until recently.
I absolutely love seeing and getting to know all your beloved hams (past and present) and your adorable bunnies - all absolutely special in their very unique way. I always enjoy your updates on Kiara and Shadow-Bear and have a fondness for them. In fact, Shadow-Bear looks almost exactly like my very first ham named Lancelot. I loved him dearly and miss him so much. I also thoroughly enjoyed getting to know more about you through your QOTD answers. Thanks also for sharing your very special place with us as well; it very lovely, and I can totally understand why it is so special to you.
Answers to your QOTDs:
1. What got you into hamsters as pets? One of my very dear friends in elementary school had a pet Syrian hamster that she called Teddy. She used to bring it to school everyday, and we used to play with it during recess. I absolutely fell head over heals with it and knew that I would one day want my own special hamster to love and cherish. When I spotted the cutest little face peeking out of his tiny house in the pet store, I gained my first heart-ham and named him Lancelot. He was so magnificent, and I knew I would always want a ham in my life from that point on.
2. Do you have a hamster species you haven't owned that you'd like to one day? I love all hamster species, but one that I would absolutely love to own that I haven't already is a Chinese ham.
3. Do you collect anything? I have been collecting German nutcrackers and Enesco Precious Moments figurines for years and usually try to get one to commemorate extremely special moments in my life.
4. What pets did you have while you were growing up? I had a few dogs (two German Shepherds named Yoyo and Heidi, one English Springer Spaniel named Princess Aurora, and one mixed black Labrador Retriever named Tux since he looked like he was wearing a tuxedo). I also had plenty of fish (mostly African and South American ciclids), frogs, snails, and a soft-shell turtle.
5. Do you have a book/book series you enjoy/love? I have too many that I love.
6. Do you have a favorite game you play? I love card games (Nertz, Phase 10, Rummy, and Texas hold 'em), board games (Risk - especially LOTR version, monopoly, and chess), and video games (any Zelda and Mario ones are my absolute favorites).
