Trusting My Hamster
I just had a trust exercise with my hamster. I was feeding him some sesame seeds for the first time, and I was pretty scared because they're small, so I thought he'd bite me. But he just gently licked them off my hand.
Should I be as excited as I am about not being bitten (he's over a year old and has never bitten anyone on purpose anyway), or is that normal behavior for a hamster?
Also, it's 3pm here, so I don't know why he was so wide awake.

Re: Trusting My Hamster
A hamster that age is unlikely to bite when eating from your hand, it's usually only very young hams who are still figuring out what's food & what's not who might bite when you hand feed, an older ham is more likely to lick your hand!

Re: Trusting My Hamster
I ditto what Cypher has said. Also, some hams wake up for a while during the daylight hours for some food, drink, and a bit of playtime.
