Default Tali

Hello I've been away a couple of weeks and thought time to write a little piece about our new family member, Tali. She's been with us for a month, we adopted her and renamed her as she was originally Hermione but we are not Happy Potter Fans ! and thought new start new name.

Tali is around 5 or 6 months old, her favourite things at the moment seem to be chewing and burrowing and hopping about scent marking when in her playpen . We are slowly going through taming process, Tali will take treats from us and will let us stroke her back. We've yet to get to the stage where she will walk on our hand to take the treat but maybe in time she might when less anxious. Tali has come a long way as the first day when she came home with us she was very nervous and squealed a bit but hasn't since.

Here's a photo of the little lady: love her to bits.

will post again soon as need advice on excessive chewing! and moving on to next stage of taming as she is bless her very nervous. Thanks.

Wow, what a beautiful ham you have there!
I am very glad that you were able to give her a loving home and that she is making good progress with her nervousness and that taming appears to be going well. I wish you luck with taming and hope that everything goes smoothly

Thank you all for your lovely comments
Update on Tali- she is settling in well. We hope she likes her home (we upgraded from Savic Ruffy to Savic Plaza) - she definitely needs the space as seems to be very high energy! Excessive chewing - Tali seems to love chewing the cage wires on the front door of her cage. We think it's partly for attention to come out (she always has playpen time every night) - she stops chewing when we go over. We are trying not to be hamster slaves ha ha Since being with us for a month we changed her setup in the cage this week and it seems to have helped a little bit as she isn't chewing as much the wires. Lots more hidey places to burrow which she is enjoying and more chew toys.
Our main concern is making sure she's happy where she is living.
Tali is a character -loves storing her food in her wheel ?! Likes to stretch a lot and the cutest thing ever is she likes to at times go nuts in her playpen hopping about (she reminds me of a lamb) scent marking all her toys!
Hamsters really are amazing and their antics always make me smile.
