Lovely to see your Geckos. Breeding sounds like a rewarding, if expensve, passion. Pet peeves - people who think pets are dirty and unhygienic!

Serendipity, thanks for your sweet words.

Drago, Ashton's color sounds absolutely gorgeous; it is too bad that he had a lot of red wash and could only sire once. Beta breeding sounds very rewarding; I absolutely loved breeding several species of ciclids in the past although it is very expensive to do as well. Although I would love to breeding betas, this will have to wait for now.

It is so lovely to see both of your gorgeous leopard geckos. Both of them have such lovely patterns and an adorable face. Draco sounds so sweet, but it is sad that he is such a picky eater. It is too bad that Teep isn't fond of being interacted with; I hope he is able to regain his weight. I do not have any clue what series the name Teep comes from. If no one answers it correctly, I will love it if you would reveal the answer at some point in your entertaining thread. At one point, I was contemplating owning a pet leopard gecko or a bearded dragon as I believe them to be such wonderful, reptile pets to own and I heard that they tend to be more easily tamed. I never had one though since some of my family members were scared of them.

My pet peeves are prejudice and inconsiderate people.

Lovely to see the gerbils and Draco and Teep

I used to have an aquariam with tropical fish, not bettas though. I used to find them very relaxing to watch. My favourite was our apistogramma cacatuoides called Fred He was such a character and I was so upset when he passed. I used to love our plecs and catfish too

My pet peeves...I probably have a lot of them Which is also probably my worst habit, getting annoyed by too many things I'm going to take your pet peeve QOTD literally and my answer is, people who say it's only/just a hamster.

I may eventually reveal the name or not, as you all would realize what a nerd I am!

By the way, if you ever do want to breed bettas, shoot me a PM and I’d be happy to give you some pointers

Drago, does Teep's name come from the Minecraft animated series called Blackrock Chronicle where Teep is a green dinosaur? Btw, I don't think that you will ever have to worry about being considered a nerd. I know I definitely don't think of you that way; you are a very interesting person with lots of various interests that make you a well-rounded person. If you decided to not reveal where the name came from, I understand though.

Thanks for your very kind offer to help give tips concerning my possible betta breeding in the future. That is VERY thoughtful and much appreciated. I will most likely take you up on your wonderful offer one day as it is always better to learn from someone with lots of experience.

Wow, you got it Yes, minecraft is my guilty pleasure. It's a simple block game, but I enjoy it. Gaming is another interest of mine So yes, Teep's name is from the series!

and np! I'm always happy to offer tips. I may end up making a thread dedicated to my breeding endeavors if I can get on here more consistently.

Today I will introduce you to my sweet little crestie, Mila. I adopted her from a reptile breeder: https://www.facebook.com/obxreptiles/
She's a pinstripe flame, and super adorable. I bought her a little over a year ago while I was at my local reptile convention, that the breeders were at. She currently lives in a vertical 10 gallon tank while she grows, but will be moved to a vertical 20 gallon once she's fully grown. I'm not sure if any of you have held a gecko with "sticky" feet before, but they feel like velvet They have quite soft feet actually. Surprisingly, their sticking action is caused by friction between the glass and the millions of tiny hairs on their toes!

Today's QOTD: what is your favorite flower?

Wow, I can't believe I actually got it, lol!!! I also enjoy playing Minecraft and other video games (Zelda, Mario, Pokemon, Guardian of Ga'Hoole and Lego's The Lord of the Ring/Batman/Indiana Jones/Star Wars) whenever the chance arises. If at all possible, a few friends and some members of my family get together with me for several hours every few months to play video games, lol. We all bring some munchies and have a nice video game party together; it's a lot of fun.

That would be great if you have a chance to create the thread about all of your breeding endeavors. I know it will be tons of fun to learn all about them. I think that thread will be an excellent way to share your expertise; I know I would definitely enjoy following your updates.

You sure have many wonderful reptile pets. Aww, Mila is super cute and beautiful! How large will she be when fully grown? Is she fully tame already? Yes, I have held geckos before; their "sticky" feet always manage to tickle me, lol.

Unfortunately, I am unable to narrow down the list of my thirteen favorite flowers as they are all equally loved be me depending on my mood. Each one evokes extremely special memories that I treasure. They are ox-eye daisy, buttercup, peony, Japanese cherry blossom, baby's breath, stephanotis, Thai jasmine, plumeria, wisteria, tulip, orchid, rose (especially the Double Delight Hybrid Tea Rose, Red Eden Climbing Rose, Winchester Cathedral English Rose, Rhapsody In Blue Shrub Rose, and Black Baccara Hybrid Tea Rose, Gold Medal Hybrid Tea Rose, Ambridge English Rose, and Juliet Garden Rose), and kadupul flower.

I am back from my holidays and catching up on your lovely animal family Drago I do love the Geckos <3
I think the forums come and go depending on the seasons and the ambiance. I've ben on here for such a long time and a moderator for many many years. I do try and look in most days and only miss when I am on holiday! Unfortunately it is impossible to comment on every post for me but I do try and scan and have input when I can help. Over the years things come and go but the forum remains more because I think there there is so much information here that you can look back to to. It's more permanent that things like facebook and twitter which are very in the moment then it is gone.

Souffle I hope you had a lovely holiday! I suppose it does make sense that the activity here fades in and out. This is by far my favorite forum, so it does make me a slight sad to see it somewhat less active

Dreamtree wow! I didn't expect you to have so many favorites I too love the Japanese cherry blossom!

Today will be something that isn't animal related, but rather, food related! I'm definitely not a cook, but I enjoy cooking now, begrudgingly. I realized that I had little skill when it came to cooking, and I had some spare time, so I enrolled in a culinary arts and culture class. It taught me a ton about food, other cultures, and the importance of proper nutrition. I went from frozen dinners being my staple, to actually planning out, and cooking homemade meals! I learned a surprising amount, and had tons of fun too. Now, I strive to make one homemade dish daily. I'm going to share with you guys my absolute favorite dish to make, ramen!

Webp.net-resizeimage (20).jpg

This particular ramen is made with vegetable base, carrots, celery, garlic, and onion. I occasionally add in beans or tofu for extra protein. It takes me about an hour to make, factoring the time it takes to chop all the veggies, and let them soften in the broth. However, it's an extremely fun experience. Do y'all enjoy cooking? What's your favorite dish?

Today's QOTD is- What is your fondest memory?

Ah I thought Teep sounded vaguely familiar - stepson likes Minecraft! Favourite flower: Cowslip. Has been since I was 7 years old. I planted some last year as they're an endangered species. Not to be confused with false Oxlip which looks similar but is bigger and not so special (false Oxlip is produced when cowslips and primroses are nearby and "mate"! But some garden centres don't know the difference and sell them as cowslips).

Favourite dish? Apple pie

Fondest memory - that's a hard one - at the moment it's from last week! When we stayed in a lovely castle for my birthday present and had an amazing meal. Also lots of special memories of moments with stepson - sad they grow up so fast!
