Drago, I do certainly have many favorite flowers, lol. Is your absolute favorite flower the Japanese cherry blossom?

It is wonderful that you had an opportunity to enroll in a culinary arts and culture class. That sounds like so much fun. Your ramen dish looks delicious; it's a real comfort food. I make something similar; however, the broth has more of a gravy consistency and cilantro, bok choy, and plenty of spices are always tossed in, lol.

Yes, I absolutely love to cook but, unfortunately, that only pertains to very time-consuming, specialty dishes and desserts made from scratch. I do cook simpler things, but it does not give me as much pleasure doing so. My favorite dishes to prepare are my personal recipes for lasagna with my homemade meat sauce; Thai roast duck with crispy skin and my apricot/plum glaze; roast leg of lamb with rosemary and my mint jelly glaze; Thai fried wanton with my sweet and sour sauce; focaccia pizza; all types of cheese and dessert fondues; a variety of ten-layered cakes from scratch topped with either homemade buttercream frosting piped intricately or chocolate ganache glaze; multi-different-layered ice cream cakes with my various homemade preserves in between the layers of my homemade ice creams; assortment of chocolate truffles; and key lime pie. Although I have a general idea of how to make it, I would absolutely love to learn how to make a really scrumptious, authentic Italian tiramisu as it is one of my favorite desserts that I had at upscale, Italian restaurants.

As you all probably have guessed, I am an extremely sentimental person. Luckily, I am blessed with having too many, very fond memories. Therefore, I will not be naming them all here. They all are memories with my large family and/or pets though - typically during our most memorable Christmas times and summer vacations together, and all of the births in the family. What is your fondest memory, Drago?

DreamtreeI'm not completely sure what my favorite flower is. So for ease, perhaps the Japanese Cherry Blossom

I don't know if I have a fondest memory. I've had many in my life. I did enjoy walking down the street under the stars in the dead of winter with my (now ex) girlfriend. I liked how frigid it was, and the way the world around me was completely silent. Truly beautiful I have many other memories, though the post would be much too long if I went into them now lol.

Today, I spent some time out in the marsh. I was searching around to see the local species, test the water quality, and trying to clean trash when I saw it. This is perhaps one of my favorite places, so I took some pics to share with y'all

Webp.net-resizeimage (21).jpg
a river leading out of the swamp. It had a lot of large fish in it. Had I planned better, I may have brought my fishing pole!

A reed, cattail, or bulrush. A cool little marsh plant. Perhaps one of my favorite plants as well. Those brown tips are actually thousands of densely packed seeds! When they're ready to be spread, the bulrush will expand out and look "puffy" (almost like a marshmellow!). These are the seeds loosening. They will then be carried to other areas by the wind, spreading their genes to new areas, and increasing genetic diversity. They're also pretty fun to burn, if you've ever done that

Webp.net-resizeimage (24).jpg
one of the many turtles I saw today. Cute little critters they are! I actually found one in my yard who was very bold. He didn't even tuck into his shell when I held him!

Some of the animals not pictured: many small birds, deer, beavers, fish, and the hundreds of dragonflies! It was super humid, and a bit over 90 F (32-35 C).

Today's QOTD: Summer or winter?

for me, I like them both equally. Summer means fireflies and warm, breezy nights with the summer sounds. However, winter means snow, bright stars, and crisp air.

The pic of the marsh is absolutely picturesque; I can totally understand why it is one of your favorite places. The cattail pic is lovely, too. I have never burned one, but I have heard that a cattail torch can last up to six hours (quite impressive).

Although I do love summer and all that goes along with it, I have to say that my heart truly belongs to wintertime. Most definitely, winter is my absolute favorite season of the year. I love seeing everything being absolutely covered with white, glistening snow; breathing in crisp air during late evening strolls on starlit nights; roasting smores at the roaring fireplace; snuggling in a cozy blanket while watching classic, holiday movies and sipping hot chocolate with whipped cream or hot apple cider with cinnamon sticks; making fancy gingerbread houses; building snowmen; riding horse-drawn sleighs; caroling with friends and family; skiing on mountains; ice skating on ponds; plopping down on a pile of snow to make snow angels; cooking and eating gourmet holiday feasts; decorating Christmas trees with loved ones; watching fireworks on New Year's Eve; and the list goes on and on and on, lol.

That is very lovely indeed! One of the best things about winter is the togetherness it brings. Sadly, my state doesnít get as much snow as Iíd like it to. However, we get the occasional blanketing in the midst of winter

I think tonightís post may interest you Dreamtree, especially if you like flowers

Unfortunately, the state where I currently live in doesn't get nearly as much snow as I am accustomed to or prefer as I used to live in a state known as being part of the snowbelt region of the U.S. In fact, I lived there for quite a large portion of my life. I miss living there a bunch, but I still visit whenever possible and have great memories of the times there. I definitely agree with you, Drago; togetherness with loved ones truly does make winter a magical time of the year, and you can create all sorts of magnificent memories with loved ones no matter where you live. I know that I have even when there is absolute no snow or barely any on the ground, lol.

Yes, I truly do love flowers. I love how they are all so extremely different and they bring smiles to people's faces. I also am interested in the language of flowers and the messages they send when you give or receive them. I look forward to what you have planned for all of us to enjoy in this evening's post, Drago. I always have a lovely time viewing them and seeing what the new QOTD will be, lol.

Hello all! Today I will be sharing some of the flowers around my house, garden, and neighborhood Plants really make living somewhere so much better, and they're good for the environment. Growing up, my family and I would grow all of our herbs and vegetables at home! We even grew our own cucumbers and turned them into pickles

Sadly, I never inherited the green thumb gene from my family. Thus, I am a notorious plant killer sadly. I forget to water them! Now, to avoid that problem, I grow any plants I may have outside lol

I have no idea what species most of these are- so if any of you know, feel free to share!

Today's QOTD: Favorite genre of music?

For me, it's definitely rock/punk rock. I also enjoy some metal, dubstep, and rap/hip-hop

I love that you and your family grew your own herbs and vegetables. Growing cucumbers and making pickles sounded like fun. My family and I grew our own peaches, apples, pears, lemons, pomegranates, blueberries, strawberries, rosemary, squashes, zucchinis, eggplants, and banana peppers. It was always so much fun and very rewarding to eat fresh foods from the labors of love in your own backyard. My favorite things that we made from our own plants/trees were making homemade peach ice cream to top peach pies and making homemade blueberry and strawberry preserves. We used to grow lots of various flowering plants and had over a hundred different types of rose bushes and several types of climbing roses. People used to ask if they could cut a few roses to use for their centerpieces at parties, bouquets at weddings, or a kind gesture to give to those in need of cheering up; of course, we were always more than willing to have our roses bring happiness or give comfort to people's lives. My daddy used to spend hours choosing the most perfect rose blooms to place in a bouquet for my mommy, and I loved watching all the love that he expressed as he did so. In turn, my mommy always had tears in her eyes as she acted so surprised at his gorgeous and well-chosen bouquets which made it all the sweeter of an experience. Their love was one so deep and unconditional; truly like a fairy tale romance unfolding right before my eyes. It was one of the most beautiful and touching relationships that I have ever witnessed, and it showed me the true meaning of love. That is why I have a special love for roses. Now, sadly, I do not have much of a yard to do lots of planting so I only have a few indoor plants and one, red rose bush outside that I tend to. I love caring for them and naming them (a bit silly - I know), lol. For example, my spider plant's name is Deku since it reminds me of Zelda's deku shrub character with all of its spiky leaves sprouting out from its head and falling in every direction, lol. (I just can't help myself; I always find many ways to amuse myself, lol.)

Your flower pics are absolutely gorgeous. They are so vivid and lovely. I am glad that you are greeted with so many pretty flowers in your garden, around your house, and in your neighborhood. I always find that flowers have a way to make every day so much more pleasant.

Pop rock, alternative rock, country, and opera are my favorites music genres although I love many songs from other genres as well.
