Unhappy I accidentally scared my hamster, help :(

So I have a teddy bear hamster named kihwi, ive had him for two months now and I love him, hes really shy to go on his wheel when someone is around and i understand that hes a shy hammy. he loves to go on his wheel whenever the lights are closed and everyone is asleep. but earlier he was on his wheel and its probably because he thought no one is home cause the lights were closed. i heard him running on his wheel and went to see, i was like maybe he won’t notice because he lights are closed. but no, he notices and he jumped because of fear and squeaked at me. when i opened the lights he stared at me for a few seconds and rushed in his hideout. i didn’t know what to do. i then decided to talk to him softly while hes in his hideout and tried to give him a treat. he would normally come out when i offer him a treat but now he doesn’t. i then left the treat near the opening of his hideout, and i’m waiting for him to get it. i’m really scared and worried, what should i do?

Don't worry, he'll get over it soon enough, just give him a little time to settle again then I'm sure he'll get his confidence back again.

I totally agree with the advice Cypher gave. All will be fine.

I'm glad that your little one has his confidence back; I just had to giggle that his cheek pouches and tummy played a part in this, too. You just have to love these food-driven hams, lol.
