Ham safe clay

Today, I came across a professional pottery kit I received for the holidays, yet never got around to using. I have a hefty amount (at least 5 pounds of the stuff) and thought it would be a good idea to make a hideout or food dish. The packaging says it's nontoxic and made from natural materials. It's a reddish brown color, and has somewhat of a crumbly texture. Would this be safe to use in a hamster cage?

Nontoxic clays are usually safe for hamsters but if you see your ham excessively chewing or taking chunks of your creations I would personally take it out the cage but if not - go ahead.
