Well..he won't come to the door so I'm just taking the whole cage top off until he learns the door leads to fun times! Decided to let him try out the ball (some hammies like it, others don't..I find it is good to get them used to it though for carrying them around if needed). Anyway, he seemed to like the ball so I let him go on my sofa. He was running over me, up onto my shoulder..great bonding time I thought!

So I went to get a quick drink, came back and couldn't see him...he was mid slide down the back of the sofa! I have a thick throw on so he was totally cushioned...however...I am sure you all know once a hamster goes under the sofa...

After about 20 minutes of trying to coax him out he poked his head out and I managed to put a large bowl over him and once caught I made sure there were no hard feelings and gave him a quick snuggle. He ran into the strawberry for the first time though and sat giving me evils

I have now discovered he has a white belly zipper and little white socks

Lol, I think great minds think alike so our minds must be awesome since we apparently have similar tastes in choosing names for our little, lovable friends.

Oh my! He certainly knows how to keep your heart pumping with all that excitement! I'm glad that you were able to capture the escape artist and give him a nice cuddle for reassurance. He is certainly the adventurer. The pics of your darling are SO cute. I love his expression as he eyes you from his charming strawberry house. His white belly zipper and little white socks sound so cute, too.

He's so cheeky, trouble with a capital T You've got some lovely pictures of him, I really like the one with his cute little button nose poking out the wooden house

He looks so innocent in his strawberry house lol! Sounds like he's going to be keeping you busy! I love that photo of him peeking out of the wooden house too

I love that photo of him sitting in the strawberry house He sounds a great character and full of mischief and fun. I think the name Jumanji suits him down to the ground lol! And it's a good name. Has he made a nest yet? Maybe he's still deciding where to settle.

I knew that number 2 had that special little sparkle in his eye

Congrats on welcoming him home. Hope little J hasn’t been too much of a handful

Well he's been here a week and feels like much longer!

I have a stonking cold atm, the kind that makes you feel like you've been hit by several lorries!

And he would pick last night to be at the door for the first time when I was on my way up to bed! I sat down and said hi and he came out by himself! I gave him a little treat to encourage some positive association with the door

We had a little cuddle but I had to head up to bed. Hoping this is the start of him warming up to me

And still haven't settled on a name hehe

Beautiful photos of he looks so adorable sitting inside his strawberry house and his white zipper is too cute!
So good to hear that he came over to the door yesterday and came out by himself. It sounds like his confidence is growing.

Sorry to hear that you have a cold - I hope you get better soon!

Thank you both, feeling a bit sorry for myself as I had plans this weekend. I've managed to do the washing up and get some work typed up..got a pizza in the oven and LOTR on the telly..in my pj's of course

The ratties are all wanting attention today but I feel too lurgy to give them smooshes bless.

It's lovely having a hamster again, I keep staring at his little butt wiggling around
