Congratulations. She looks lovely. I have a bendy bridge under one of my hamsters wheels. It is flat, just to stand the wheel on, so it doesn’t get jammed up by substrate.
If you get the bigger size of bendy bridge, you could bend the ends over. It would be more stable that way.

I don’t think the substrate (fitch) helps with the stability of the wheel, I’ve had to straighten the wheel a few times now although thankfully it’s not jammed again! I have megazorb so may try using that in the area where the wheel is to see if that helps but I don’t want to change too much right now while she’s still settling in. I have the wooden Trixie wheel, I’m wondering if I might have been better getting one that I could attach to the bars as she insists on squeezing herself through the small gap between the wheel stand and the bars.

I also want to change the shelf & house that came with the cage, I wish they’d sell just the cage without all the accessories and make it slightly cheaper. I don’t think I will use any of the accessories that came with it.

I've found wooden wheels to be more stable on substrate than plastic ones but they do tend to get pushed around or they dig underneath them which isn't helpful. I make a free standing shelf for my wheels, just a piece of wood with dowels for legs & stick either a small dowel or lolly stick in front & behind the wheel on the shelf to stop it sliding around.
If you want to invest in a really good wheel you can attach to the bars in the future the Silent Runner is a great wheel.

That’s a good idea to put it on a shelf, I probably already have everything I need to do that as I’m a bit of a bunny-diy addict - I’ve made a few things for them so a shelf should be easy enough.
