.... I'll try to get a video of taming Herman to get use to my kids' hands in the near future but being that I litterally hold my kids' hands to coach them through the taming process (and avoid them getting bit), its hard to hold the camera at the same time.

They KNOW not to touch Herman or interact unless I am there.

Edit: If you can tell me Herman's age that would be great. He is a male syrian and compaired to other videos I've seen of syrian hamster, I feel like he is quite small still. Petsmart (where I got him from) said he was 8 weeks but I feel like he may have been younger when I got him.

Hamsters aren't overly keen on being stroked on their head anyways so I wouldn't be too worried about this- some do mellow out more when they get older though.

It hard to know his exact age - he doesn't look too young and size doesn't correspond entirely to age as size is also dependent upon genetic too. I would guess his age is anywhere between 8 to 12 weeks.

Thank you for the information I was going to schedule a vet appointment next week. But now there is no need. Yes Herman loves his cashew treats. None cooked, no preservatives, no salt. Still tastes good.

And okay. He should be about 12 weeks now if the petshop was honest. Thank you very much
