Your 4 months tribute post to Gaby was beautiful Razor and really brought a tear to my eye. I can completely relate to how much of a difference these little guys and girls can make to our lives. This months will be 2 years since we got our first two hamsters and the difference they have made to me has been amazing.

Gaby is a beautiful girl and I'm pleased that you have had a wonderful 4 months together, she is cuter than cute

Indeed, so small, yet so big! That's wonderful to hear! Congratulations on soon approaching two years!

One of my friends, rather, best friend told me sometime ago, shortly after stepped into Gaby into my life:
"I think this is the best thing you have done. Animals never disappoint. They will love you unconditionally no matter what or how circumstances evolve. They will never let you down. Never say anything hurtful. They will forgive you, they will love you. They will teach you to be patient. They will teach you to be a better person. They will teach you to love, to care. Gaby will help you recover and get better, to heal, to become yourself again."

Indeed, she was right. Gaby has been unconditional in her love. Even when she was annoyed at me for doing things she didn't like, she never wavered, never bit back, never screamed, never fought back, never hated. She always loved unconditionally. No matter the mood I am in, she always does something to put that grin back onto my face. And today was yet another example of that. I woke up in a foul mood over how sometimes people can disappoint so heartlessly, and Gaby just seemed to sense this somehow, and starts pulling off antics to make me smile. And then, I get this picture of her. Curled up into a nearly perfect ball of fur, just enjoying a delicious snack. <3

Among other things, I managed to capture this absolutely stunning dusk in the city of Gothenburg sometime ago.

Gothenburg is also home a rather fascinating place called Universium. They have an indoor rainforest and a beautiful aquarium with fishes ranging from clown fish to sharks. Here are two pictures from there which I really loved. Gaby approved of these pictures too by subjecting it to her highly scientific sniff test and whisker test.

Your friend's sentiment is exactly on point and so eloquently stated. Our loving, loyal, and treasured pets are true life changers and never disappoint or be intentionally hurtful. They really do have a way of making each and every moment shared with them all the brighter and more meaningful. I feel the exact same way with all of the amazing pets (past and present) that I have shared my life with; they are all little heroes coming in all different shapes and sizes, but perfect in every single way. I am glad that you have your sweet Gabi to help you turn your most upsetting days into gloriously, happy ones! I know she will continue to always be your little sunshine and put a huge smile on your face. I hope that the rest of your day and your entire weekend will be full of tons of laughter and smiles. Happy Birthday on Sunday, Razor!!!! May it be just as awesome as you!!!! Gaby's pic is just too perfect, precious, and sweet. She is just too cute for words! Please give her a nice cuddle for me.

Wow, I just noticed that you posted three other amazing photos that weren't there when I previously posted!!!! Those last three are extremely stunning! The dusk scene in that gorgeous city is absolutely picturesque. The Universeum sounds like a must see. I am amazed that they have the blue-spotted stingray there, too. Did you manage to glimpse one while you visited? I always enjoy visiting aquariums and seeing all of the underwater wildlife in all of its splendor. It is so mesmerizing to me; I could spend an entire day there and come right back the very next day, enjoying it as if it was my first viewing, lol. I love the pic of the school of fish creating ever-changing pictures with their shimmering movements. I also have to smile at the darling clown fish, one of my favorite fish, nestled sweetly on its home. I just love these guys; they always make me smile. All of these pics are so detailed and must have been extremely difficult to capture. I am thoroughly impressed.

I didn't post a new thread to wish you happy birthday because the HC forum's front page didn't have any names posted in the birthday section, but I remember you stating in a previous post here that at the end of this week you will be celebrating your birthday. Therefore, since I believe today is your very, VERY special day, Razor, here is your Happy Birthday song from me to you. I hope that I got the translation right for the song in Swedish as I was trying my very best to do something extra special to brighten your day but I don't speak any Swedish, lol.

Oh well, here it goes; I hope that this makes you smile, and you have an awesome day filled with tons of happiness with family, friends, and Gaby!!!

dreamtree1234, I'm really glad to hear that you feel that way too!

Size and shape certainly doesn't matter with these wonderful little creations! Absolutely! I did give her many many cuddles on your behalf too, and Gaby sends back whisker kisses to you and Eros! Haha yes, fishes are always quite mesmerizing to watch. I wasn't able to spot the blue-spotted stingray though, I guess probably because I was just so lost in the overall beauty of the aquariums. Thank you for the birthday wishes! Really thoughtful of you to wish me in Swedish too!

I did have a great time, and was made perfect with my darling Gaby, who was so vey eager to spend time with me yesterday. She just wanted to cuddle and play on my hands for nearly two hours straight (she would just run back at me if I placed her on my bed)!

Thin Lizzy Thank you! Yes, we did have an absolutely memorable day yesterday, especially thanks to my little girl Gaby.

Sunday was the most special birthday for me, because it was the first birthday since this wonderful little hammy named Gaby stepped into my life. We spent loads and loads of time together on both Saturday and Sunday, as she just ran up and down the length of my arm and shoulders, snuggling up into my palms for cuddles and on my shoulders for whisker kisses. Something about the way Gaby cuddled with me inspired me to bake a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake. Gaby was rather excited to watch me baking it, however was a bit sad that she couldn't eat it. But hey, I gave lots of treats that she loves. She just sat there, on my palm, nibbling away the treats as long as I was holding them. If I let her hold onto it or place it on my palm, she instantly ignores it. It was like Gaby was telling me "Uh uh. That ain't happening hooman. It's your birthday, which means you have to hand feed me. And I want you to hand feed me! You know how much I like it when you hold the food for me as I eat, and I know you love it too! I can see how happy you get when I eat from your hands rather than grabbing it from you. Happy Birthday my dear hooman!"

I'm so glad that you had such a marvelous birthday; you deserve it. Gaby sure knew how to make it absolutely perfect, and it put a HUGE smile on my face to hear all of the ways she made it extra special. She really is a darling, sweetheart. You cake looks totally scrumptious! WOW, that is my kind of cake - chocolate. . . with some chocolate. . . and more and more chocolate added to that - YUM!!!
