Default hamster getting used to his cage.

hi everyone,

Yesterday I cleaned out sherbets cage and put him back in it but he spent ages getting settled in.
I didn't wash is toys so it still smelt like him a little.
Is there any ways you can get your hamster to settle in their cage more quickly?

Did you do a full cage clean apart from the toys?
It's always best to just clean a little area at one time so you don't remove all the substrate, if you do the house/nest area always put a little of the old nest back, the nest actually doesn't need to be cleaned often unless they pee in it, if you clean the area where the hoard is then put the food back or replace it with fresh afterwards.
If you have a fairly large cage then you probably only need to clean about a third or half at most every few weeks.

Try finding it's food storage and replacing it with fresh food. Save up some substrate that has it's scent on it and placing it in the new, cleaned cage.
