Re: Hamster wheels
Oh, thanks.
Will the wooden wheel not be too heavy for a dwarf hamster?

Re: Hamster wheels
Wooden wheels are fine for dwarf hams. They spin very freely.

Re: Hamster wheels
The Carolina Storm Wheel is silent, spins easily and is 101/2 diameter. it is well made. You can get it from Etsy in the united states.

Re: Hamster wheels
The first one The second one is badly made and splintery I believe.

Re: Hamster wheels
Either the first one or the third one. The third one should be silent, but the first one is known to be quiet really. The third one would get pee soaked unless painted with something like plasti-kote petsafe waterproofing paint. Not sure if you'd find that or what the alternatives would be. Personally I would go with the first one - it'll probably last longer and easy to clean. If you really like the idea of a wood one then go with the third one You could maybe find some kind of petsafe water based varnish or paint. The third one is bigger - just over 9" diameter. The others are 8" if that makes a difference as to whether it would fit but would be fine for a dwarf hamster as it spins well. Although some people think the wooden struts aren't good for their feet and a smooth surface like the plastic first one is better but I've not heard of problems with the wood struts. With any wood wheel you need to have a piece of sandpaper handy as they can have splinters.
