Introducing Chip
Evening everyone,
I know I promised this before Christmas now but it has been a hectic month or so. Finally I have had a bit of time to post a couple of photos of the beautiful Chip who has successfully worked her way to the hearts of all of the family.

Chip 02.jpg
She is now about five months old and recently weighed in at about 115g so a little more growing to do by the seems of it.
She has made a couple of successful escape attempts (even by climbing over her play pen). Fortunately the house is pretty hamster proof so she has nowhere to go and has always been tempted out from beneath the chest of drawers by mealworms.
We have purchased a new cage for her as her current one is too small (bought it long before the hamster and didn't realise they needed more space. The advice on this forum has set me straight. Thank you.) The new one will arrive next weekend which we are excited about.
Thanks again for all the advice on here.
Wim

Oh goodness she's so cute!!! I love the first picture.
I'm glad you got her a bigger cage, that's great pet ownership!!

Re: Introducing Chip
Chip looks lovely, congrats!
I'm sure she'll love the new cage when you get it all set up for her!
Those wire playpens are more suited to dwarf hams than syrians, you might want to think about making one that's escape proof just in case.
Have a look here if you do, it's a vid showing how to make the "stylish playpen" very easy to make, folds away & can be virtually any size you like, the height is enough to keep most syrians in.
