Hello there everyone!
About a month ago I got a new hamster!
The little guys full name is King Henry XIII though we just call him Henry
As we went to buy our new hamster at a trusted small local pet shop they had a lot of new, about 5-week-old syrians and one little (or rather big) longhaired syrian left that was 12 weeks old already.
So which one did we buy? Of course the chubby longehaired one!
We know this pet shop for a long time and they often can't sell the older syrians at all because everyone wants the small cute ones. Often the staff of the shop give the ones left behind a nice home though.
But not this time!
As soon as I saw the long grey fur and those lovely brown (in some light red) eyes, I knew we had to get him.
It just made me sad to see such a beautiful creature in a small cage without a wheel. I do think he is a little overweight because of the small space without any possibilities to exercise.
As soon as we brought him home he found the wheel in his cage in under a minute and ran for about 2 hours straight before even exploring his new home!
Until now he's pretty much settled in perfectly and I began taming. I've never had a hamster with such a "chill" personality. He allowed us to be near him in the cage and rearrange stuff pretty much from the beginning without running away or even flinching.
Sometimes I'd even say he is just lazy as fuck. The picture I attached shows one of these moments. He just chills on his house, maybe takes a little nap and then goes on with his daily tasks. Not long after he will sit in another place and just enjoy his life as it seems
I hope to get a few more pictures of him in the future!
