Thank you all for even more lovely comments!

Alby has settled in really well although we did have a little blip last night. We were letting him run about again under supervision in his fort, BF got up too quickly from the bed and dropped his book. Although Alby was a safe distance away I think the noise spooked him and he was a little bit jumpy after. BF felt terrible and tried to comfort him with cuddles and treats. We left him be for a bit in his cage. Tonight heís been a lot better, around 9pm stood at the door to his cage and made little chirpy noises when he saw me.

He was in for a treat because Iíd actually just made him VanillaHamHamís Carrot Cake for hamsters (if you havenít already, search this on YouTube - I am obsessed with the amazing life sheís given her hamster!) and letís just say it went down very well with Sir Albany. Here are some photos of cake time! Heís munched quite a bit of it and has stored the rest away for later. While this was a lovely surprise heís still a little bit jumpy tonight, so we had some play time and then put him back in his cage for now. Itís nearly 2am here but Iím awake as I have upcoming night shifts (oh the nurse life) so Iíll probably take him out again a little bit later if he seems like he wants to. Our Linnmon cage is almost complete and we canít wait to move him into it so hopefully with some TLC and relaxation he will be a bit calmer soon.

Myachick is so sweet! I love watching them dig, itís so cute. Our cages are similar but not exact. Like Myachick, I think Alby will probably get a bit bigger as he thrives!! If the cage hasnít completely finished by tomorrow I might take your tip on finding a way to give more room in Albysí cage. What a lovely video!

Alby is so handsome - he is very fortunate for you to adopt him and give him an amazing home he so deserves! Love the photo of Alby enjoying his carrot cake - he looks so sweet and he looks to be thoroughly enjoying it.
I'm sure he will be very happy in his new cage once you have finished building it!

Bit of an update for everyone as it has been a while. I have been working a super amount of night shifts lately. I am also a bit down at the moment due to bad news we received last month that I'm struggling to come to terms with. We've also been getting to know Alby of course, playing and having cuddles when I get home as the sun begins to rise (it's a weird feeling)! I have the next week off, though SO will be working a lot of late evenings which means even more special Alby and Mum time! Which can sometimes... turn weird. Like today.

I had been listening to the Bruno Mars album while making dinner and had 24K Magic stuck in my head all evening. I imagined Alby singing "24 Carrot Magic" with a little voice and suddenly had this great idea. I carved 24 little carrots out of one big carrot, and when he woke up I took him to the carrot kingdom and had a little photoshoot. My phone isn't doing great at taking pictures for some reason atm (and Alby moves a lot bless him) but he ended up looking pretty sweet.

Here are some posts on my Imgur of Alby Mars looking pretty chuffed. I may have taken a bit more inspiration from Bruno Mars in the second image... yes those are £20 notes in the background. But definitely not mine!!

In other news, the DIY Linnmon cage has been completed. We have nearly got everything we've ordered for him and when we do, we will provide some photos for everyone to see! We've sort of gone for a Teddy Bear/Cute Theme, because he is like a little teddy bear to me. Hope everyone is well and once again thank you for the kind comments!

Awww love the picture of him with his carrot cake and his 24 carrots, I take it it is safe to assume Alby loves carrots then He's such a gorgeous boy, so photogenic

I'm sorry that you had some bad news, I'm sure Alby will be doing a good job of trying to cheer you up. I know my boys always do
