Hi there, I am always curious about one question: why my boy Myachick always does that (something adult) while grooming after waking up from bed?
Recently I place him on the couch after he wakes up every night to tame him. However, he does that literally everyday...
Do yours do that after waking up in the night? Is it normal to do it everyday? Do I need to get him a girlfriend?
I wouldn’t worry too much... I’ve seen both males and females do something similar and to them it’s just a normal part of their grooming routine.
A girlfriend is unlikely to help the situation. He wouldn’t be able to live with her all the time and any encounters he’d have with her is likely to result in baby hamsters (or a fight) rather than a change to this behaviour.

Recently when 3 of my hamsters wake up(Myachick, Dumplinh, and Kiwi), something bad happened. Whenever Kiwi squeaks, Myachick and Dumpling got extremely sensitive and jumped upside down in order to try to approach her. She squeaked several times tonight and both of my boys got extremely excited and alerted. I had to put her in the bathroom and turn on the heating there.
I’m afraid if I don’t separate them under the same room, they will hear each other and get too excited and nervous all the time.
Any suggestion how I should do?? I don’t want to discriminate her by isolating her. But I don’t want them to seduce each other and become stressed all the time.
