Re: Newt getting a housemate
I have glued a couple of wood dowels across the top hole of the mushroom house to be on the safe side Having never seen a robo before I had no idea how big/small they are except in imagination.

Re: Newt getting a housemate
I hope so. It's a new experience I have just about got the Kerry sorted now. Am using one of the houses that came with the kerry - the one with the sloping sides and have stuck ickle legs on it. It also has a small window but I think that's ok as it's 3.5cm each way. Just finished making a hammock out of an egg box and some sisal rope. It's not quite right lol! I think I used the wrong half of the egg box or something. Anyway, it's to hang over something pointy in case of falls.

Re: Newt getting a housemate
Sounds as though you are getting a lovely setup created in the Kerry. Your new baby will be very small especially compared to Charlie. But much more energetic. Loki was meant to be about 9 months old when rehomed but she was still tiny. The back legs and feet though are strangely much more visible. Watching her buzzing about was fascinating-perpetual motion then disappear but of course I never saw her as a baby. That will be such fun for you.

Re: Newt getting a housemate
I got a little house recently which may be ok for a robo. It came from a Pets Corner shop next to a garden center.

Re: Newt getting a housemate
Yes those are great! I nearly got one but it wouldn't have been here in time so decided to use the one that came with the kerry - it's part buried so doesn't take up as much space now
Thanks Coco - I still can't imagine but I'm sure we'll find out soon. Doing some name ideas this week-end. Stepson has a good few ideas. Some of which are good and some definitely not lol.

Re: Newt getting a housemate
Aww a roborovski. I love them. Cant wait to meet him. The kerry will be brilliant. Maple does well in the grosvenor which is 77 x 47 x 36 so very similar to the kerry. She sleeps under the shelf ignoring all houses!
Exciting.

Re: Newt getting a housemate
So excited to hear you're getting a Robo Serendipity I too wondered if you would end up with one one day as I remember you being tempted by them after Charlie went to the bridge
I'm looking forward to meeting him and seeing his set up. I'm also curious about what his name will be and I imagine some of the names stepson has thought of are probably quite funny

Re: Newt getting a housemate
It is wonderful that your stepson is coming up with names for your new robo. It is always so extra special to have their input in such a huge decision as coming up with names. I'm sure he was quite creative in some of his name choices, too. I look forward to seeing your robo boy and his cage setup and finding out what amazing name you and your family come up with. Have fun!

Re: Newt getting a housemate
Thank you FF, Boris Pasha and Dreamtree. Cage was all ready except for putting the house back after plastikoting it and now the house roof is warped and won't fit So I have been fiddling around - sawed off bits of wood and glued little knibs inside the lid trying to get it to sit on top. Wish I had another house I could stick in! But he's coming tomorrow. Naming is a bit tricky right now. Stepson's favourite choice is one I'm really not happy about - still to be decided. I might just choose something myself - and tell him it's fair - he chose Newt's name
