Next we have Edwin, my LH Sable boy. I adopted him June 2013 from a small scale rescue, he was already named and well over a year old so I decided to keep it rather than change it. He definitely lived up to the naughty sable stereotype but he was such a little character.

In September 2013 Fudge passed away and I decided I didn't want another Syrian at the time so I welcomed Baby Willow, a baby chinesey into my life and this is where my Chinesey obsession started. She fell asleep in my hands when I got her home and we had an incredibly special bond throughout her life. She accompanied me to every hammy show that I attended and it was rare that she didn't win pet class, even winning best overall pet at one Christmas show.

Edwin was very handsome. I like the name, too!

I am going to assume that "Baby Willow" was the namesake of your hamstery? She was so pretty - I can see why she did well in shows. Love that second pic.

How beautiful these little ones are! Did you notice a big difference between Syrian and Chinese hams?

Yep Willow is the namesake for the hamstery and the reason why I have such a huge love for Chinesey's I think the main differences I found between Chinese and Syrian is the size and the fact that my Chinese have always been more happy to sit and have snuggles than my SYrians.

My next 2 hammies were Rowan and Skadi. Rowan was a gorgeous Satin Rex Golden girl from Bourne Valley Hamstery and my first pedigree Syrian. She was also a monster cage destroyer! She ate out of a Mamble 100 Rat cage and managed to escape the Detolf twice, she finally settled in a 3ft tank but she definitely kept me on my toes.

Skadi was a Sapphire Winter White from Hamster Mischief and such a lovely little hammy. Her favourite thing to do was eat chocolate drops and escape from the detolf when she inherited it! I still have no idea how she did it, I just remember being in bed, hearing a thud and finding her sitting in my bin staring up at me

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has found Chinese to be happier to sit and have snuggles than Syrians.

I love your hamstery's name and what a lovely way to honour Willow too.

Can't beat a chinesey snuggle Especially the boys!

Thank you, it felt right as she was really the founding hammy. I mean, Fudge definitely instilled a love of hammies in me, as have all my hammies, and I love them all equally, but there was definitely something incredibly special about Willow. Everyone in the hammy community who met her, fell in love with her. When she passed away I paid to have her privately cremated.

She sounds simply adorable... it's a shame I didn't get the chance to meet her.
