Re: 30 Days of September
Today is dedicated to the Willow Tree Kitty...well he's really the family kitty but Willow Tree Kitty sounds nicer xD
He turned up behind our house as a little abandoned kitten 5 years ago and we took him in to try and locate his owners. We posted all over facebook, contacted vets and Cats Protection League and no one ever came forward to claim him. Cats Protection offered us a neutering voucher and asked us if we would consider keeping him. Needless to say he joined the family and we named him Sox.
He's rarely any trouble, although he does demand fresh cat biscuits every time he goes to his bowl and tips the bowl over if you don't comply and he also has a habit of waking people up at 5am just because xD But he's a lovely boy, never paid any attention to the hams on the rare occasions he's come into my room and loves to wind Alfie and Garm up xD
This was him the day he turned up behind our house and is the picture we used to advertise him as found:

And this is the lazy lump he's grown into now xD :

Re: 30 Days of September
Catching up on your thread after missing a few days, it's so interesting and so many wonderful pics. Embla and Eir were gorgeous and your dogs look so cute.
Freya, Loki and Thor look like characters too and reading about Thor and his face bouncing made me fall in love with him

Re: 30 Days of September
Freya looks so sweet and she looks so cute sitting in her wheel. Its so lovely to hear that you could offer Loki a caring home - he looks very cute and a he was a beautiful colour.
Thor looks so handsome and he sounded like he had such a huge personality despite being small.
Sox was so very fortunate to find himself a home with you and your family. He is so absolutely adorable. Its was very cute and funny hearing how he demands his fresh cat biscuits!

Re: 30 Days of September
Aww, Sox is so, SO cute! He looks like he is wearing a tuxedo and white gloves, too. I love his name; how fitting for the cat with four adorable socks, lol. His glowing green eyes are quite mesmerizing, also. I am glad that he found you five years ago; he must have known that you would make the perfect kitten-mum, too. Lol, Socks demanding fresh cat biscuits or else it's food bowl tipped over. He sounds like such a character and tons of fun, too.

Re: 30 Days of September
Not posting about the average pets today, thought I'd do something a bit different
I finished my 2 year Animal Management course in July of this year and one of the modules was Animal Training so me and one of my friends decided to choose something a little different to work with. Our college has 2 Raccoon Dogs so we decided to teach them to stand on scales on command, wait and then step off so that the keepers could weigh them more easily for health checks.
We passed as they both grasped it really quickly, anyway, they're such beautiful animals and not many people know about them so I wanted to share them with you They can be kept as pets but aren't very common. The first 3 pics are of the one I trained. A female called Tanuki who was born with an ear defect so she holds her head to one side slightly. The last picture is of the one my friend trainind and is Tanuki's brother, Hoshi

Re: 30 Days of September
Congrats on completing your two year Animal Management course. It sounds really interesting and lots of fun, too. I'm so happy for you and commend you on your accomplishment. The raccoon dogs that you and your friend worked with are absolutely gorgeous and look extremely inquisitive. I never saw a raccoon dog before. I love Tanuki and Hoshi's names, too. Will you still be able to visit with them in the future?

Re: 30 Days of September
Congrats on passing.
They are lovely animals, adorable faces
Never seen one myself but have heard they're becoming more common as pets.

Thank you It was hard work, a LOT of written assignments but well worth it. I'm taking a year out and then returning to the college in September next year to do an a Foundation Degree in Animal Science and Behaviour so I'll be able to see them again The college also operates as a licensed zoo so I can go and see them any time they're open to the public too

Thank you ^_^ They really are lovely animals, I'd love one or 2 in the future if/when I have the space to give them a decent home

Re: 30 Days of September
Catching up with 3 days and I giggled at Thor and his racing round the room antics, what a beautiful boy, so melted my heart and I have a soft spot for robos also.
Sox turning up at yours was so meant to happen, they do say that they adopt us, reading this reminded me of a stray cat turning up at ours when I was in my teens and we too put posters up secretly hoping no one would claim her as I'd fallen in love with her. She lived till she was 18. Sox looks so at home chilling out and he's so gorgeous.
Congratulations on completing your 2 year animal management course, what a fantastic achievement.
That's the first time I've seen a raccoon dog, Tanuki and Hoshi are so gorgeous. Such cute faces.
