Re: 30 Days of September
You'd have loved her, she was a tiny girl, never weighed more than 26g, she used to give me licky kisses on my mouth every night before I went to bed.

Re: 30 Days of September
Today is a non-hammy day and I'm gonna introduce you to my 2 crazy dogs instead
Their names are Alfie and Garm and they'll be 6 next month (28th). We got them from a rescue centre on Christmas Eve 2011 when they were just 8 weeks old after losing our old family dog. We were originally only getting 1, however, they were the only 2 left from their litter and my dad said we couldn't leave 1 on their own for Christmas so we had both. We know their mum was a Yorkie but that's all we know about their background.
They're both absolutely mental but with 2 very different personalities. Alfie loves to snuggle, hates the cold and the rain and loves to play tug whereas Garm isn't really into snuggles as much, loves being outside and loves to play fetch. Garm also likes to see the hammies up and about whereas Alfie avoids them.
This was taken the night we brought them home (Alfie is on the left and Garm on the right.)

And this is them now:

Lovely mutts you have there! They both look like absolute sweethearts. I love seeing canine siblings getting adopted together, it's very heartwarming

Re: 30 Days of September
Edwin was such a handsome hammy; I love the look of LH sables. Willow was so lovely and her sleeping on your hand just touched my heart. I can see how she stole your heart instantly and made you adore Chineseys. What a great tribute to honor her by naming your hamstery after her! Btw, I love her coloring! Rowan and Skadi were also extremely adorable. Lol, they sure seemed to be quite the Houdini! Alfie and Garm are so precious! It is wonderful that they were able to stay together and be adopted into your loving home just in time to celebrate Christmas. What a precious and memorable holiday blessing.

Re: 30 Days of September
I got quite giddy catching up with this thread for September, so much beauty, cuteness, gorgeousness with your little fluffs. I oohed and oohed and my heart melted at your hamily pics.
A big Aww at your beautiful dogs Alfie & Garm, so pleased you took both home.

Re: 30 Days of September
Lovely to hear about Rowan and Skadi. I always wondered what a satin Rex would look like!
I've been hearing a lot of people say Chineseys are cuddly which I hadn't expected. I will have to get one one day.
Alfie and Garm are gorgeous! I can definitely see the yorkie in them. I wonder what their dad was. They have such lovely expressions.

Re: 30 Days of September
Thanks everyone I'm hoping to get a DNA test kit for the dogs when I can afford it because we can see so many different breeds in them. Garm's fur when long is like poodle fur but when he's clipped he looks a bit like a bedlington terrier and Alfie's head and face is a bit beagle/spaniel looking so it'd be really interesting to see what mix they are.
Next on the hamily journey I had Embla and Eir (pronounced Ay-a). Both were rescues. Embla was rescued as an adult hammy and was a female BEC and I had Eir when she was a baby, she was a Satin Melanistic Yellow.
There's a bit more of a story to why I got Embla, I had offered to foster a friends BEC Syrian as she wasn't sure if she was allergic. I fell in love as soon as I got the little one home but, within a couple of hours, my friend missed her that much that she didn't care if she was allergic and had her back. Straight after, I found out about Embla, another BEC who needed a home, so it definitely felt like it was all meant to be.

Re: 30 Days of September
Just been catching up. Edwin was so handsome and he was such a beautiful colour. Lovely to hear about your first Chinese hamster Willow, she was beautiful Willow looks so cosy asleep in your hand. Rowan and Skadi both look so sweet too!
Both of your dogs are beautiful - so lovely hearing how you took them both home.
Embla and Eir are both utterly gorgeous. Love the 2nd photo of Embla - to cute!
