Getting a Syrian... advice?
Hey there,
I've had 2 Syrians in the past and am hoping to get a new hamster soon. I'm keeping an eye out for where they're available and hoping to adopt rather than encouraging more breeding. However, I've found a litter on Gumtree who are six weeks old, and available in 2 weeks. Apparently the seller started handling them at 1 week old which as far as I'm aware is probably too young?
How much do you think it's worth asking questions about quality of life/if seller is planning to breed again before I just start to annoy them? Are there any questions I should be asking the seller before I decide I want of the litter? Thanks

Re: Getting a Syrian... advice?
You are right. The babies shouldn't have been handled at one week old. They can be held once their eyes were open.
I would ask what food they are being fed, so you can continue giving the same food while the hamster settles in. You can then change it to a better food if you want.
