Re: Meet James
Sorry to hear that James still isn't better & whatever it is is a bit of a mystery, I hope the new treatment works & he's more comfortable soon.

Re: Meet James
Its been really hot here but I've never seen the heat affect a hamster before by giving them a red and swollen mouth.

Re: Meet James
The vet called me today and there's no fungus in his skin sample, consensus to wait a couplf of weeks and see if the Stronghold he had put on him helps. If not then the next options are a cream or a suspense fluid I can give him.

Re: Meet James
Happy belated 1st birthday, James! I'm so sorry that he had an allergic reaction on his mouth, and it became swollen and red. I also am sorry to hear that he injured his neck scratching it. I hope that his meds do the trick and he has a full and quick recovery. I also wish that the weather will cool down for all the hams and their loving parents. Huge hugs to you and tons of get well cuddles to your precious James. Eros also sends her get well whisker kisses.

Re: Meet James
Update as of yesterday we took him to the vet as his mouth is STILL red, the vet took a picture of his mouth as best she could cos he was wriggling a lot. He bit me pretty hard but didn't drew blood, being at the vet makes him so very angry for some reason. She's going to pass the picture around, see if anyone else knows what might be causing it. I'll get a phone call in the next week if she has anything.
Thank you Dreamtree and Eros *hugs*

Re: Meet James
I'm so sorry that James's mouth is still red and he bit you while you were at the vet visit. I really hope that the vet will be able to help and James will be cured of whatever is ailing him. I also hope that your finger will be feeling alright, too; I guess James was extra moody since he wasn't feeling well. Best of luck to you both.

Re: Meet James
That's the thing he's not unwell in himself and he has always nipped me even at home, he bit down on the skin between my thumb and finger. He is eating, he is drinking and perfectly healthy just has a red mouth. He's scratched himself again under his neck, gave himself a small wound. Really seems like something is going on in his mouth, and its giving him discomfort if he keeps scratching. I hope to have some good news soon!
