Re: 31 days of August
I used to love butterflies as a child. AP having a pet one sounded amazing.
Great pics Cypher.

Re: 31 days of August
Thanks everyone
AP such a sweet story about Wingy, I don't think you're mad at all I would have done the same thing, it is a shame she hurt her wing but it sounds as though she was a happy little thing while she lived!
I do have quite a lot of butterfly photos so I might post some more later in the month.
Now for another ham some of you will know but some won't, my surprise introduction to the joys of Chinese hams, Zephyr.
After Flynt had been with me for a while I thought it might be nice to have two hams so I went off to the P@H adoption centre in search of a Russian hybrid looking for a new home, didn't quite work out that way!
They had a Chinese ham, I had seen them online & thought it would be lovely to have one one day so had done some research & knew a bit about them but this was the first time I'd seen one for real.
I asked to have a look at her & she was soon climbing all over me then nestled into my shoulder & just clung there, I considered myself adopted at that point so little Zephyr came home with me & my addiction to chineseys was soon firmly established!

Re: 31 days of August
Zephyr was lovely there's something about Chinesey's faces that I find very endearing. I'd love to have a Chinese ham one day. It's terrible, the more time I spend on this forum, the more I want a hamster of every species! I think it's something to do with getting the inside perspective by reading about all their quirks and personalities from people who own them. Your love has rubbed off on me!

Re: 31 days of August
How lovely to see Zephyr again. Like Flynt, when I joined they were both already established hams so it's very interesting to hear how it all started. Beautiful girl.

Re: 31 days of August
Cypher, I just caught up on your wonderful, interesting thread. I'm so glad that you chose to introduce us to a few of your beloved past hammies as I only know the adorable Zeki, Zen, Tinwe, and Zylvan. I love the pics of your current foursome hamily by the way. They look as adorable as ever. I love them.
I'm sad that the salesperson said such dreadful things about black hammies when you got T'ycor. I'm so pleased that you decided to ignore her upsetting comments and not deter you from giving adorable T'ycor a well-deserved, happy, loving, forever home with you. He sounds like he was truly a remarkable and loving, first hammy for you. He was so handsome and seemed as sweet as can be. I love seeing his pics and thought it was quite special that he stood at the exact place whenever he waited for you to take him out to play. What a sweetheart. I love his name and the way in which you came up with it. What a brilliant idea to make his name so unique and special just like him. He did look like a tiny corvid without the wings of course, lol. Btw, I also adore black hammies. I had three in the past (Lancelot, Baby Truffles, and Yin), and they were truly exceptional and I miss them every day.
Ziggy Stardust was also extremely gorgeous. I loved his coat coloring - so many lovely colors all blending together in a stunning zigzag pattern on the side. I love the name and it is truly quite fitting. The pictures of Ziggy eating the cucumber from the center out is SO cute. What a silly ham. I also especially love the video of Ziggy making a nest in the ceramic pumpkin hideout. I made me laugh and was so hysterical.
Flynt was extremely handsome, too. I am sorry that he had such hard beginning, but I'm so relieved that you were able to turn him around and let him become the sweet cuddleham that he was meant to be. It sure is a testament of your love, care, and persistence. He had such a gorgeous, unique coloring; I love the slate-blue tint to his fur. He also looks like his fur is actually glistening in some of the pics, especially the one where he is eating a blueberry and peeking out from behind the veggie dish. What a stunning ham! I loved his video of him checking things out thoroughly and then darting back into his house - SO CUTE!!!
All of the pics of the exquisite Painted Lady butterfly pets and the wild butterflies in your gorgeous garden were exceptional. I could see all of the magnificent detail in each and every one of them. Butterflies are so lovely; I can't help but stop whatever I'm doing to admire them. I went to the Cebil B. Day Butterfly Center at Callaway Gardens and the Florida Wildflower and Butterfly Garden and Museum at the Florida Museum of Natural History and had a marvelous time enjoying the amazing flowers, butterflies, etc. I found it quite special every time a stunning butterfly landed on me. It symbolized good luck, so I suppose you could say all my wishes came true. I loved hearing about your terrific experience on rearing the Painted Ladies, Cypher and AprilPearl. I also thought it was so sweet that you took such excellent care of Wingy, AP; I would have done the same, too.
I loved hearing about the adorable Zephyr and how he adopted you by clinging onto your shoulder until you took him home with you. I don't blame you for being totally mesmerized and head over heals in love with Chineseys; they are SO cute. I love Zephyr's pics, especially the one where he was coming straight for you in the first pic. It looks like he was just about to plant a huge whisker kiss on you and your camera lense, lol. I so love it when they do that. Hehehe!!!! Btw, I can't help but wonder if there is a unique story about how you came up with his name, too? Does it mean anything, or is it one of your marvelous abbreviations? I would love to know.
Cypher, all of the pics, videos, and stories are such an enjoyment. Thanks for doing this month's photo thread; I look forward to reading and seeing the rest.

Aww! Mega overload of cuteness.
That 3rd pic where her paws are crossed melted my heart.
