Hi Rads, thanks so much for your advice, I need it! I'm using an iPad to take the photos, probably a bit of a shake, plus I think the hams find the iPad a bit scary. However it's easy for me to upload the pics to the iCloud and retrieve them. I don't know how to cut and paste on the iPad but if I put them on my Facebook I could do that on the pc. I've just started a hammies album. On FB so here's hoping.
I think both the hams have lovely personalities, they like licking me. Possibly I eat too many peanuts. They both love hoomans and come running out looking to be cuddled as soon as the door is open. But they're both banded and may have the white belly gene and Daisy is too old.
Cotton is just a youngster though and he is definitely up for it. He probably has the white belly gene as his eyes glow an eerie red sometimes even though they are dark. So if there's a breeder out there is interested in a longhair golden white belly very very friendly ham give Cotton a shout. He says there won't be any charge as a special offer for ham central members. Ttfn Cotton and Mumster

Aww Baby Cottons would be adorable. I often wonder what Quigley's babies would be like, too. If Quigley's breeder had kept him maybe he would have spawned generations of fluffs lol. Ah well, not to be.

Too right AP, they are gorgeous boys. It would be great if hammies could be selectively bred for longevity too, I wonder if someone's working on that. Wouldn't it be great if they lived longer.
Good news on the hambasket. I found in in the washing when I loaded the machine today.
Daisy will be so pleased when she wakes up.

Oh it would be Ruth! I've heard of hamsters living 4 or 5 years (!!!) and always wished one of mine would go on for that long. I suppose buying from a breeder gives you the best chance of health and should theoretically therefore produce the longest lived individuals. Strangely, though, the oldies I have heard of have been from pet shops.

Glad you found the basket. Daisy can breath a sigh of relief

Daisy is SH cream coloured, sorry I didn't label the photos.
His favourite music is by Rachaminov.
