Re: 31 Days of July
Thanks for the kind messages about Heidi, she really was a lovely hamster
We have a guest! I'm looking after a Syrian called Ginny for a couple of weeks as her owner is on holiday. She seems pretty sweet, she's pretty big compared to Heidi and Amber! She is a little skittish when you're picking her up but she's generally fine when she's out of the cage. It's strange having more than one hamster again, it's been almost two years since I had two at the same time. I'm honestly not sure how people manage to give multiple hamsters enough attention as I already feel like I'm ignoring one of them each time I get out the other Sorry for the short and late post but I've been out most of the evening

Re: 31 Days of July
I wonder if the name Ginny is a Harry Potter reference? She does look ginger - though I don’t know what the proper name for her colour is. She is exactly the same colour as one of my brother’s old hams, so I’d be interested in knowing what it is called.

Re: 31 Days of July
It is a Harry Potter reference I'm far from an expert on colours but I'd say she's more likely to be cream - that picture isn't the best at showing her colouring.

Re: 31 Days of July
I have 7 hammies, I'm used to having so many. I only have 1 Syrian who demands attention the most. Dakota, my Russian comes in 2nd place, the others are low maintenance so it works nicely. Dwarves especially robos just enjoy a few treats & a little attention & that's all they require.

Re: 31 Days of July
Lovely photo, Ginny looks adorable
Multiple hams can be quite demanding! I have four & at times don't know how to be in enough places at once lol! but you do kind of get into a routine & they're usually (but not always!) helpful enough not to all want me at the same time

Re: 31 Days of July
Lovely to see Heidi and your sweet guest, Ginny.
I currently have five hamsters and have found that having two downstairs (smooth coated syrians) and three upstairs (fluffy syrians and a roborovski) works well. The downstairs syrians are both so outgoing and will get out of bed quite often during the day to come and see me (and to receive treats).
Look forward to seeing more lovely pics.
