Not really.A good example of this being bad would be metal bottle holders sold by many pet stores, which can cause serious injury.Metal is just best avoided, and instead you could use other safe and truly digestible materials that also won't cause injury such as safe untreated or kiln dried wood or certain seagrass items. You can use appropriately sized mesh(aka hardware cloth or chicken wire, but you must get the right kind and this means never using the coated sort!)when building DIY cages or when metal is used for bottle spouts, but other than that metal is just best avoided.

I wouldn't recommend it.The edges could become quite sharp and even if not obviously so there's a decent risk of injury with such a wheel. It would be a last resort if there is no way to get a more appropriate wheel(Silent Runner not Spinner being the best on the market if you can find a way to get it),and even then the edges would need covering with another safe material so there would never be any metal edge to touch.

If you could find a way to have the Silent Runner shipped to a nearby country and then have it shipped to you, that could work, and while it is a bit of a complicated process it is much better than other alternatives.
