Aww, Lil looks so darling and adorable peeking out from the box. Peek-a-boo; I see your cutesy self, Lil, and you make me giggle with happiness.

Re: Lil's photo thread
Hi All,
I have updated and rearranged Lil's cage a little - here's some snaps.
I'm looking into purchasing a silent runner as an upgrade on this trixie wheel.
I've only just discovered you can take it off it's stand and attach it to the side, which would be a great space saver but it doesn't fit between the hamster heaven bars and even if it did, it would be too close to the slanted base and would rub...
Let me know if you have any advice on things I could add/if you see any red flags/etc.

Re: Lil's photo thread
The setup is good. See how Lil reacts/uses everything and make adjustments if needed.
The house could go in a corner (rotated 90 degrees) and the wheel go where the house is. Most of my hamsters preferred to have their nest in a corner. The house roof would be like a platform and would also be able to give access to the small platform on the right of the door.
Keep a check on the buried pipe. Lil may nest, hoard food, pee in it. If she does you may want Tom over it or use it for out of cage playtime.

Cheers for your feedback, CMB
Funnily enough I did have house and wheel set up in the way you described, but the wheel didn't quite fit and so it had to be a 45 degree angle.
She doesn't seem to mind the house not being in a corner (I rearranged about 4 days ago) but I agree with you re: access to the small platform. I'll have to have a rethink..
And thanks for the advice about the tube but she's had it for quite a while now and hasn't nested in it in a long time (since setting up permanent residency in her yellow house) and doesn't hoard food or wee in it thankfully
