Changing cage???

So i've been trying to find a new cage for my Hamster, Silver for some time now and i think i've found some pretty good once. what do you guys think?? what cage looks the best?? and if there is any dangerous risk with them plz let me know ^w^ Thanks in advance

This cage looks very good with 3 levels, it's not so big but very high which gives him more space which is good and the measurements are 67 x D 36,5 which is actually just under the limit (60 x 40) but it's 3 levels so it's approximately 201 x 108 but what scares me are the grids because he might climb on them and hurt himself

This one is very big and has 2 levels :3 It looks very comfy. Measurements are 101 x 52,5 which is very big. I would pick this one since there is less risk of Silver hurting himself but the other one looks a bit more fun for him

The first one is not a good choice. Levels don't mean anything; only continuous floor space does. Plus, with levels, you get the risk of the hamster falling and getting hurt. Hamsters generally enjoy running and digging more than climbing (they can climb, but they're not the most graceful creatures, and can often get confused about how they get down).

The Alexander is a much better choice, and is one a lot of people on this site use (others being the Alaska, the Barney (both on Zooplus), the ZooZone 1 or 2, and the Savic Hamster Heaven Metro or Plaza...or else bin cages.) It comes with plenty of hiding places, and only really needs a wheel added, beyond the usual food/drink/enrichment toys/deep substrate.

Agree that the Alexander would be the better choice of those two cages. Many here use it.

The Alexander is safest and can be setup in different ways. Have a look at the let's see your cages thread and also threads on particular hamsters who live in the Alexander cage.

You tube and internet search (images) for Alexander cage should give you lots of ideas for setting up the Alexander cage.

I also have to agree on the Alexander! It's a lovely cage that many members here use and swear by. This one is definitely safer, more appropriate, and offers more floorspace. A good choice in my opinion

I agree with Jeir that the first cage is not so suitable. A very important thing to note when choosing a cage is that you should never replace ground space with height! That means higher cages aren't that suitable and you should look for cages with a larger floor. If the cage is higher up it could also injure your hamster if it were to climb up the bars and fall! However make sure that you fill up the open spaces with toys and hides as your hamster would feel vulnerable when there is nothing for it to hide in. The second cage is definitely better!
