Re: Torn between my cat and Tangerine!
Cat beds, cat trees,or even just a DIY bed setup using cardboard boxes or wooden crates(depends on the cat size, smaller cats would fit into the Walmart wood crates which are found near the storage bins I believe, not sure of other wood crate options but painted with soy or genuine milk paint or just left bare they'd be a great option and are quite simple due to lots of tutorials on the internet).
A cheap and simple alternative DIY would be using fabric of your choice cut large enough to wrap around an inexpensive pillow and cover the whole thing. This would be easy enough to replace or change the fabric out of,or you could even use basic pillow cases if you wanted something even easier.
Definitely check out Home Goods,Ross, etc for some reduced price pet items. They usually have a decent selection of cat and dog beds(either would work for cats, again depending on size).

Re: Torn between my cat and Tangerine!
Or give her your fuzzy blue blanket in her cat bed So it's familiar. Although then you'd need a new blanket for your bed
