Re: Vectis Hamily Updates
Aaaw so cute. <3
I don't mind admitting that I have a bit of a soft spot for Red but the others are all looking mighty cute in their photos too.

Re: Vectis Hamily Updates
Job well done - that must have been a nightmare de mitifying the whole lot. All the hams look adorable - I especially like Red's lovely expression and eyes and Runic's curiosity of the award thing (oh my brain I can't even remember what those are called right now and it's not even Christmas yet!) Rosette! Got there. Anyone else got December brain fag?

Re: Vectis Hamily Updates
It has been a real pain cleaning everything; I ended up cleaning my whole flat as hamster bedding tracks everywhere. A full 7 days of cleaning - thank goodness I happened to have a week off work, though not how I'd planned on spending it! Still, I usually have a pre-Christmas clean, though not normally as thoroughly
It's put a bit of a crimp in my rehoming plans so I have lots of youngsters making my hamster room very full! Hopefully they can move onto their new homes in the New Year, though they may have to wait until the Bath show in February. It's nice though as I've been able to wait to see how they grow before deciding who to keep. A couple of hams I would have rehomed are now going to stay as they're turning out rather nice - like Nijel.

Re: Vectis Hamily Updates
Sorry to hear that you have had problems with mites - Good to hear that you have managed to get rid of them. It must have been a job cleaning everything thoroughly though. Lovely photos of Runic sniffing the rosettes and I love the photo of Norton snuggled in your hand - so cute!

Re: Vectis Hamily Updates
I went into the hamster room to take photos of the duprasi but ended up getting distracted!

I'm not sure Hulverstone signed up to looking after his three energetic sons! They're all getting on well though.

One of the boys lost a front leg when he was very small. It doesn't slow him down and he can mostly de-pouch by himself but sometimes needs a hand on that side.

There was only one girl in the litter and she's still living with mum.

Re: Vectis Hamily Updates
I'm so sorry to hear that you had a mite problem and had to do some much unexpected cleaning as result. Thankfully, your nightmare is over now though. I love all the gorgeous photos of your amazing hamily. They are all so cute and precious. I love them all.

Re: Vectis Hamily Updates
The Vectis hammies have been given their festive dinner today. A little late, but they always help out with the leftovers and too much yummy stuff in a week isn't good for their tums. Everyone got their own cupcake case - which is quite a few!
A lot of noms by Vectis Hamstery, on Flickr
The hamsters approved of their noms - turkey, potato, carrot, sprout and turkey broth (I made the broth specially for Rogue-dog so is just the turkey bones slow cooked and nothing else).

Re: Vectis Hamily Updates
Lucky hammies.
I don’t know why I’ve never thought of giving mine broth before... that’s a great idea.

Re: Vectis Hamily Updates
A new addition arrived at Vectis this weekend. Thanks, Fluffagrams, for this lovely Cormes lad whom I've named Lord Sir Harry King, or Hal for short.
